what would be the best mfer i think the pally smiter or zealer would work out pretty good since u dont mf to find good rares so sorc is only good for teleporting

i personally prefer sorcs for mfing, i like barbs too, cause you can dual wield 2 gull daggers or 2 ali babas (or anything else you might try) and once everything is dead you can use find item on the corpses
a pally might work though

Lol sorcs are the way to go if you want to mf andy or meph. Cows for sorcs? Bah! Cows are useless these days.

Its a pain to mf with babas in classic because you have to switch out your weapons for the gulls.

If your looking to mf cows (which is not useless) Then you want to build an mf light fury zon. The best setup for mf cow lf zon-

Throwing javelins
Sigons boots shield and gloves
Twitchthroe
Goldwrap
72 mf helm or tarnhelm
sojs or nagel rings or a mix. Magic rings can get 40 mf, too.
Rare +2 zon mf ammy

The last ias breakpoint for light fury using a throwing jav (-10 base speed, 80 stack) is 60, so we acheieve that, + skills, mf, max block, and resists dont matter.

On my cow mf zon i even pumped energy, and didnt regret it

The original post is kind of incoherent, but he seems to say you don't MF to find rares. This couldn't be further from the truth. I don't think any char can touch sorc for magic finding. Even the javazon Fred described only has (at most)
50 (Sigon) +
72 (Ptop helm) +
~60 (2 perfect Nagels) +
25 (Rare amulet)

207 MF which requires 3 "perfect" MF items (so probably you'll have more like 190ish)

On a Sorc, you're almost there with the helm and a Gull alone, now mix and match partial Angelic (100 MF), partial Tancred (78 MF), partial Vidala or Arcanna (50 MF), Chancies (up to 40 MF) or Goldwrap (30 MF) depending on what you have and can trade for. Along with teleport you can choose the best skills to clear out the area you want this char to MF. There is no comparison IMHO. Hammerdin is far more limited in terms of areas he can clear.

Couple things about the javazon mfer- at players 8 cows it will kill... faster than any sorc could ever dream of.

~200 mf is fine for cows-- any more there are severe diminishing


Of course i wouldnt use that gear anywhere other than cows- no resists

I was thinking about doing this. When I was helping my friend in NM Cows- the drops were unbelievable. That was with about 200% MF.
