Sweet Jesus, should I unsocket this?

After about a whole week of trying to find a 8% Windforce on USeast Ladder, I finally found someone who had one. I needed it, so I made him an offer he couldn't refuse, and I got it. I saw it was 8%, and it had some jewel in it. I was actually happy, I wouldn't need to waste a socket quest on it. I didn't care what the jewel was, it could have been a chipped sapphire for all I cared, I'de just rip it out and Shael it to hit the next breakpoint. However, after the trade, I examined it more closely.

I thought it was a -15% req jewel. What a waste. Why not just use a Hel. However, something cought my eye. 290% Enhanced Damage. Not 250%. The guy who had this before me put a 40% ED/-15% req jewel in it.

Honestly, this seems like a major waste to me. In the screenshot, my zon is lvl 45, to give you an idea of how much damage it's adding. It's literally adding an extremely tiny amount, and the -15% req is practically useless, I was aiming for that much Str and a ton of Dex anyway. Shael will give me the next breakpoint. But man, I'de feel guilty destroying probably the only freaking 40%/-15% jewel on USeast ladder. Should I do it?

lol thats pretty funny..and yeah it does seem like a waste to unsocket a 40/-15req jewel on the windforce. maybe you should just trade it off, some people might want it for the fact of the jewel, and perfect windforce isnt that much harder to find than other windforces, (only variable is 6-8%ml).
im curious though, what did you offer him?

Trade it for a WF 8% clean socket and make a huge profit? I'm sure plenty of people would rather have a 40/-15% WF than a shael'ed one and pay for it :thumbsup:

1) ED jewels are the absolute WORST things you can put in a bow, except possibly a pgem or something. The base damage of even a hydra or grand matron bow is pathetic. The only worthwhile sockets are 40/15 jewel or shael, or possibly nef (not for windforce).

2) Average zon equipment usually has huge bonuses to strength, eg. lionheart, andy's visage, war travs, nos coil, charms, etc. 134 str to put on a weapon should be no problem considering most bowazons only need 60-70 base vitality.

This can be quite useful is someone builds around this bow, however, you can save alot of stats..

I had one of those and stuck it in my leviathan. That's a pretty good jewel, i'm sure somebody wants a windforce with that kind of calibur jewel. Just try and trade it off.

I traded a Gul for it, since I see tons of people in channels saying "Ist for ANY WF!" and the same people have been spamming it for a week. I was figuring since Ist isn't enough for a 6 or 7, Gul would be appropriate for a 8%.

If I can get like a 8% WF + Um or something for it, I'de be thrilled. I had to pay out my teeth for the perfect Kira's, not to mention the Fortitude. Found the torch, though, hehe..
