No other story drew me and prompted me to spend hours upon hours staring at my computer screen until my eyes hurt from distingusing the ambient background glow from the text. At the time at least, I was young and very much addicted to video games and immersing myself in them. I read chapter after chapter; as quick as they were written I would finish them.

It was a story of a paladin named Sir Vincent McCray, hailing from previous Tristram and his encounter with the 3 of 3, well known necromancers by the names of Legna, Maloth, and Zorpheus.

I come to this community asking, no pleading, for any information at all about this story and what happened to it. Was it ever finished namely and most importantly where can I find it? I could have sworn I remembered printing it off this site when there once was a fanfiction section and not a forum for it. Many years have passed though and for some reason or another that section is gone along with a story that I don't want to yet forget, for I have yet to finish it.

Perhaps knowing the title would be of some help?

I recall there being at least 18+ maybe even 23+ chapters and I know the story wasn't finsished by that count. I have what I believe is the first chapter, which I found on a site months back devoted to fanfiction, but that was all it had. Searches for "Sir Vincent McCray" and "Diablo2 fanfiction Sir Vincent" lead nowhere. If requested or advised, I will post the entire first chapter(all that I have been able to acquire) so as to help those who may have read it recollect it's story or perhaps draw others in to what captured my imagination like no other when I was but a boy. Yet just hearing the "3of3", Maloth, Legna, and Zorpheus, and "Sir Vincent Mccray of previous Tristram" should be enough to get the brain juices flowing but if not, I as stated before, will post the first chapter if that is permissible.

I found this cached Google page. It has a Prologue as well as a Chapter 1.

The author gave his name as "Rama Stryfe." I found several hits on that name, and one led to a forum profile. It looks to be a couple years old, but you might be able to contact him through the links or information there.

Hrm...well, there is a non-forum fan fiction database associated with diabloii.net called The Dark Library. Unfortunately, it's currently down now due to technical issues, and if I'm reading this correctly, you may have gotten the story off of the old version of the database, which was shut down maybe two years ago when TDL upgraded. If I'm not mistaken, there were some stories that didn't make the move over to the new one. Either way, I can say with certainty that it wasn't on the new database, because I joined TDL shortly after the new version went up and have probably glanced at every single story that has been posted there, and I definitely didn't see this one.

However, if it was on the old TDL, there may be a copy or two floating around in the hands of some really old forumers, or perhaps the TDL staff. If you want to try this method, I'd suggest contacting Anyee on the worldofwar.net forums. She manages TDL, though she doesn't come around here much anymore. Good luck with your search.

Here's the old TDL (http://web.archive.org/web/20040815200415/http://www.diabloii.net/tdl/) and all archived versions (http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://diabloii.net/tdl/) of same. I didn't see anything by Rama Stryfe or that appeared to be the story in question, but you might have better luck.
