Noob Dueling Necro Questions

Yeah....I have an obsession with dueling Necros nowadays.

I'm looking to make a Bone Prison + Bone Spirit Dueling Necro and I need some idea of what I should Equip him with. Here's what I was thinking:

Helm: Wurmskull
Weapon: Spectral Shard
Sheild: Wall of the Eyeless
Gloves: Magefist
Boots: Treads of Cthon
Belt: Death's Guard
Armor: Twitchthroe
Amulet: +Skill, Prismatic, FCR
Rings: Prismatic, FCR

Also, what do I max out other than Bone Spirit? And on a side note, does the Necro have any fire skills that Magefist can add +1 to?

IIRC, magefist doesn't add to fire golem but it does add to corpse explosion. Somebody else better confirm, because I can't remember for the life of me where I read that and I couldn't find it from a quick search.

Shard is the 2nd worst thing you can do to your necro, after equiping silks. :lol: Also, if you can afford a +skill, fcr, priz ammy, you can afford much better armor than twitchthroe.

Maybe I'm just thrifty, but I've also had tons of good armors too. I've been around for a while, and the fact is twitch is a damn fine armor. Especially for a PVP char who benefits greatly from the increased block. PVM , I usually don't use twitch as an end-game armor, but I certainly use it until I find a better one.

Some advice for the nec: Don't use wormskull. use a 3sock ruby or a rare with resis/ fhr / hps.

WOE isn't a bad shield, but vs a cold sorc you probably will want a 3s or 3d shield.

Check for the breakpoints for a necro. I'm not too sure exactly what they are. shard is a big dex investment. depending on gear that is. You might fare better off with a +2 20fcr high resis wand and fcr rings/amy mage fist / woe. But I'm not too sure the breakpoints for FCR, like I said .

Go for 50 or 80. Use Ume's if nothing else. Ideally I would go for +2 20fcr/mods rare wand, +2 10fcr pris ammy, magefist, then a res shield for sorcs, and for necs/hdins use eyeless+1 fcr ring, for others use 2 sojs / pris shield w/ high block.

nec gear is hard to explain, but wormskull is not bad for damage (its quite nice with 2 sojs, +2ammy/wand, and sigons shield on a level 92 :))

Ideally I would use a helm with mods such as 10fhr energy 3xlife 20+cr lr fr (at least 2 of these), not wormskull, but once you get to 80+ +dmg items are nice.

Shard is low damage, and a wand can also add mana/resists/replen, which are useful. I'll also note that the best PvP nec on east uses wands, and very few necs use shard. Magefist for FCR are nice, so i can have my nec setup be:
Wand: +2 20fcr 40cr 27fr 5rep 19energy
Magefist (20fcr)
2x SOJ
Amulet: +2nec 10fcr 18str 19pris 31cr 37life

Shield is 30/20 20pris 30fr 90cr (saph socket) defender

also, my friend uses 2x godly pp fcr rings on his nec, and 50fcr works quite well when you have 300+cr in hell, along with insane amounts of stacked resists. Only different gear is NvN use eyeless, 80fcr owns. (for legit NvN just ask me, softcore classic NL, I'll arrange a duel with the best legit NvN, undisputed :))

I've also seen a great 30fcr nec, necro's require ALOT of skill and an 80fcr nec can easily be owned by a 30fcr nec.

Well you play nonladder. Where the real action is, ladder, a +2, pris, fcr ammy is pretty much out of the question.

I hate nl classic.

Mustve been pretty hard to get. Most people dont play all the time, at least in my experience.

And as a side note, Ume's Lament is pretty good...only because of Decrip :D

Yes it does, but that tactic doesn't work for WWing Barbs.....which is why I have Bone Spirit also maxed :D
