I noticed Javelins don't drop in Classic(I think other thrown weapons too, but I may be wrong). I recently installed LoD end there are plenty of Javs in the Expansion but nbo on Classic. It sucks having a javazon due to the high cost of Javs(1k for a 40-pack of Short speras? WTF!)
It's not a bug, it's a feature! :) There's a lot more interesting stuff that can drop than javelins which are never magical or rare.
Sure, it's kind of annoying but you can gamble them too in a pinch. Use javs that come in stacks bigger than 40 and remember to make a quick tp back to town when you run low to repair instead of having to buy new.

You would never want to use short spears. Javelins have lower requirements, have a speed speed of -10, and have more quantitiy.
Of course, harpoons are the best ;)

Yes, due to the lack of Javazon support, I gave up on the idea of making one.

LOL you believe I didn't notice you could repair the pack to replenish it?
Well that makes the char viable.
Fredsta, Javelins do so little damage, I have to use them as a melee weapons in some cases to avoid "towning" every 10 seconds...
At least at low levels where poison dmg is too low...
Noite - don't worry about your char sucking too much at a low level. Yes it can be painful up until you get charged strike, then things get a whole lot better. Once you get a bit past 30 with some points in fury and pierce, the world is your oyster (well, the cow level is your oyster at least...)
eggo, just because javazons aren't as powerful as they are in LoD is no reason to think they are useless in classic. I haven't played one since 1.09, but I could handle lightning immunes OK in hell with jab and goblin toe. Non-lightning immunes are a piece of cake.

Lightning Fury javazon's are extremely powerful with cheap gear and a skilled user. High level = high damage and they can clear hell CS easily, although they are quite difficult to use pvp, charged strike is lethal.

What about if I go with Poison?
What about if I go with Poison?
Probably not hell viable as much as it pains me to say it (although I bet they're a ton of fun up through NM)

She was supposed to be a PVP char. I wanted to make something different of the day-by-day builds. MAX Poison/Plague Jav, Max CS/LF as backup/finish. But I got bored with her, probably going to erase to start another sorc
i have a level 81 hardcore classic ladder javazon who has base dexterity, and base energy. with maxed charged strike, lighnting fury, and valkerie i can solo a lot of areas in hell. (the valk tanks the light immunes)

Jabbers are viable, pvp, and pvm. They are not as good as charged strike, but they are more fun. Poison is very viable for pvm and pvp.
A jabberzon setup i used -- 15ed/3 ar harpoon
S-back
Twitch
Angelics
Gob toe
Duskdeep
Deaths combo
vs melee - (took down ww barbs)
Jabber vs caster isnt viable
Fred
Well I started a ladder javazon..it's pretty good except that I have to keep potting every second or so. I invested a few points into energy, I plan to have 100 pts in energy by the end of the char's build, and it doesn't really seem that dex is really required. CS and LF doesn't require AR.
