This is a short guide for the best (imo) pvm zealot setup there is. After reconsidering my old setup, and taking into account you guys like resists, here goes. This zealot is balanced, kills very quickly vs single targets, survives, has decent defense, max fire//light resist and high plr. 1k avg dmg per attack of 4 fpa zeal (with ds factored in) with 60% crushing blow.

Keep in mind this is very close minded, and i wont consider an gear switch. I have tried... everything in the book, and this comes on top.

Full clegaws
Deaths sash
Goblin toe
Twitchthroe
+2 pally prismatic ammy (stacked resists and life//stats are also nice)
2X 100+ ar 25+ fire and light resist rings. 1 must have life steal. (cold resist, and + stats are also nice, and the higher fire//light//ar the better)
Rare fhr 25+ fire and light resist helm. (grim helm is the best with its high defense, +life, cold resist, and higher resists are all nice)

This is the best (in my very strong opinion)

At lvl 90, my pvm single player cleg zealer "clegs-pvm"

Using the gear stated with avg resists on rares, no life or + stats.

1.7k life
8.5k ar
max fire//light resist. High plr.
~1k avg zeal dmg 4 fpa with 60% crushing
Max block
1.9k defense

The knockback on the gloves are not annoying, neither is the range 1.

Just a guide for ppl who have been following the classic zealer threads, now they can see the best.

I realize this is your strong opinion, but why Death's Sash if you aren't going to use Death's gloves? I think you'd be way better served by a rare with resists, FHR, and best of all more slots for the pots. Is the CBF that important in PvM? Also I don't know if I'd call the knockback "not annoying"... more like "tolerable" :)

Thanks for the post Fred, I love reading these mini-guides.

For a zealot, cannot be frozen is a big deal, because if you get frozen in a mod of monsters, your zeal slows way down, you stop leeching life, and you die. Cannot be frozen is also a big deal for pikeazons. However, if you get enough half freeze duration items in your other slots, you may be able to get away with it.

Yes, cannot be frozen is "essential"

To be honest, the knockback is useful when you are swarmed with enemies, and i am glad its there. The slows target 25% is also 1337

Fred

how does blessed aim give a passive AR bonus?

pretty sure it doesnt.... go devotion or whatever that defence aura is for bonus holy sheild defence

the HIDDEN passive skill bonuses were added in the last patch i think.

0. +skills from gear do NOT count for passive bonuses

1. blessed aim gives like 5% AR per 1 or 2 points (i have no idea what it is. some one else will need to give the correct info on the AR per pt into blessed aim)

2. resist fire/cold/lit give 1% to max of that resist for every 2 pts. 20 resist fire=+10 max fire resist up to 95% cap. +skills from gear do NOT count for passive bonuses

3. clone for valkyrie gives bonuses to valkyrie elemental resists see warlock's tankyrie thread (on search for classsic type in tankyrie).

4. sanctuary (see my sanctuary guide thread)

5. strafe: always fires between min 7-10 max arrows/bolts.

6. etc. ??

what do u think, is it worth putting 1 pt (+prereq) into sanctuary to deal with undead PIs?

I guess that would depend on how many prereq points it would cost. 2 or 4.
In other words, which other aura's do you have ?

Like fred stated, you will have some extra skills to spend after maxing the important ones, but honestly phys dmg zealer is not meant to be a cs'er. Its intended for river runs.

I would place them blessed aim as suggested and stay out of cs ^^

it was only an idea as i haven't built this char yet (still mfing for twitch and goblin).

Fred

finally i have collected all items necessary for this build.

what do u suggest, how to distribute skill points as i lvl up the char? what order for maxing these skills?

(i play single player, so no cs runs with exp-leeching or rushing)

thx
