I'm pretty sure this has been discussed another time, but I think this merits being brought up once more.
I'm currently running Nith with my level 88 hammerdin on ladder; he's rocking 90 all res (fire is at 95), and even with 90 poison resist, he's dropped to about 700 HP (out of 1500) in 2-3 hits. What in the hell? Really, I'm getting frustrated with this. Those are the only monsters that really cause him any grief, but it's by far my biggest complaint. 90 poison resist, and still getting messed up in 2 hits.. just kind of makes you wonder why they even have poison resist. :p
The problem with the Tomb Vipers is that their physical damaged is added to the poison "explosion", frame by frame. So although your probably negating the poison damage, you'd still be taking the physical damage, unless you have some damage reduction.

Yah, I've had a char die when she was low from poison from those guys, but in a safe area and under no threat from monsters. Suddenly, I got 4 or so 'hit' sounds and then I died. SP too, so it wasn't lag.

The Tomb Viper poison javelin bug is exclusive to realm gameplay - it works 100% correctly (i.e. poison damage only, no 25 physical damage hits per second while in the cloud) in single player and open battle.net/TCP-IP play.
ye and its also bugged in the fact that even after the poison cloud dispears you get the physical damage staying there for a few seconds

It still does it in SP mode, did for me at least...
Besides it isnt a bug, Blizzard said its working as intended. =P
