Concentrate OR berserk?

Im creating new barb,and before wasting skill points which one should i choose?
Berserk gives 150% MAGIC damage,so is this more effective hell? It leaves you Unprotected though. 100% attack rating.
Conectrate is not so high damage than Berserk,but it gives you more def,so that you may hit monster 2 times,before it hits you? 70% damage,60 atc.rating.
My items,for barb=
Helm: IK,Or Demonhorns edge.
Armour:Toothrow,Haemosus adamant,Hwanins refuge.
Amulet:Atmas scarab,Highlords wrath.
Weapon: IK maul,Nord's Tenderizer,Demon Limb or Baranar's Star(MAce mastery spezialaise) Also should use double swing?
Shield: None,im poor :o
Boots: IK
Gloves:Draculs
Belt:Wilhelm's Pride or String of Ears
Also what act merc should i use? Any tips/Advice needed.

IK set would work well with conc. Using beserk with no shield is a tad bit dangerous but it can work given the right gears. Ik set is pretty good for conc but not for zerk cuz of having no shield. Hope that's what you were looking for.

Since you're using IK maul, you might as well go with whirlwind, because it doesn't work as well with any other attack skills. 1 berkser and 1 conc with 20 bo/shout gives you plenty of damage for both of them, which you will use in special situations with your whirler.

Ugh, I need more sleep. I edited that previous message; I meant to say, since you're going with the IK maul, you might as well do whirlwind.

As for other items, just go with the ik set on a whirler. It's cheap and effective.

y i agree a zerker build is not really meant for an ik set especially beacuse u have no shield to protect u unless u have a very high lvl bezerk attack which reduces the time that u have a 0 defence but as mentioned an ik build seems to suit a WW barb more than a zerk barb.

Is whirlwind effective in LoD? In classic i found it not so useful until i found Bonesnap :thumbsup: And is the other gear effective??? There are plenty of choices,tell what best :uhhuh:

i think ww is very effective although i have heard it has been toned down from the pre beta version but il have to look up were i herd that.

but anyway if u have a good weapon preferably a fast weapon with ias ON the weapon in ww plus good ar and leech for health and mana also a good lvl Whirlwind (not in the minus dmg lvls) then yes it very effective.

the helm u re using, the demonhorns edge is a decent helm cu of the high def and attributes it offers like the skills and the rest of the stuff looks stable but it would be best to go for full ik depending on ur wealth in game cuz ik is a good set for a cheap barb build and offers alot of skills and bonuses when wearing.

Whirlwind is more or less the best attack skill that barbarians have, it just demands a powerful weapon and some practice using it. It works well with the IK maul.
