Hi guys im new here and i was wondering if anyone could offer help or advice to making a barb.

this is not my first barb so im not exactly new to making 1. My first barb was decent but the weakness it had was ridiculously low life and bad point distribution so this is where i need help;

my health is currently 563 and after boo is 1013

my current build is lvl 53 WW with Conc (base no equipment on)

lvl 53

strength 107

dex 107

vit 121

energy 15

WARCRYS

1 to all prequests

shout 15

battle orders 15

battle command 1

COMBAT MASTERIES

sword mastery 1 *that was a mistake

axe mastery 2 (*this barb is going to be an axe barb)

stamina 1

increased speed 1

iron skin 3

COMBAT SKILLS

1 to all prequests

concentration 3

Whirlwind 6

the equip im going to use will prolly be these;

Arreat/ Ber

Strom monarch shield /um or ber

Enigma or Forti depends on BvB or BvA or PvM

2x angelic rings / or bks for switch

1x angelic amu / or mara amu

vert belt

steelrends

gore riders or other good boots

BOTD Beserker axe

so can anyone give me advise on point distribution or ways to correct my build on skill points as well as the equipmet im going to use and how i can get my health high (above 5k life)

any help will be appreiciated ;)

first i suggest you max BO, it's one of teh best skills in the game and will up your life a lot....second, decide exactly what you need in str and dex to wear your equip (remember to include your anni/torch if you have) and dump every spare point into vit, that will pump your life....also max ww and max your mastery, i dont really think conc is necessary....if you're going to BvA, points into leap is also helpful, also points into incspeed or natres may be helpful depending on how you play......another way to up your life is to get charms with +life, these are affected by BO afaik, so its a big boost

No more points into strength. You need to keep it as low as you can, just enough to meet the str requirement of your biggest item. Similarly, you just need enough dex so that you have 222 dex at level 99; otherwise, all points go to vitality. Never put points in energy. If you want 5k life, you're going to have to rebuild to save stat points. Most 5k life barbs are BvC, so they don't have to worry about dex for blocking or any points in strength at all; they just use Enigma BPs and a ton of life charms. They also have 20 BO and echoing weapons on the switch for buffing.

Stop putting points in conc; there's no reason to invest in two weapon skills unless one of them synergizes the other, since as you play you're going to find that you really only use one skill or the other. 1 conc with 20 BO already does more damage than 20 whirlwind, so there's no real reason to take it any higher.

Get a point of berserk; you will need it.

If you're looking to pvp, ditch steelrends for dracul's, as open wounds is huge and the str reqs on Steelrends are way, way too high.

But yeah, otherwise you should be okay, in terms of gear and such. You might want to consider remaking him, if you're striving for perfect, just because you have a few wasted points/stats, and you're still a low level. It'd be easier to start fresh now than to take this guy up to 93 or so and then decide you want to remake so you can get those extra points :)

k thank you guys for the replies btw i have stop adding to concentration but i think i may need arround 232 strength to be able to wear the armour because i may use a sacred armour which gives a higher defence for both an enigma or forti

and im rite now maxing my bo lvls then i may use bo sticks to further boost them although the botd does add 30 to all attributes

so should i try and bring my barb to that amount of strength?

or should i go for the lighter armours wih less strength requirements such as the archon plate?

btw could i make up any difference if i use skillers with health or small life charms (ideally 20hp ones)?

To get to 5k life you have to use life charms anyways, even on low-str builds. In general, heavy armors like that arn't worth it; they don't provide that much of a defense boost over lighter ones, and they also penalize your movement speed/stamina drain rates. You can get more life with a lighter armor, and nearly as much defense.

Look at archon plates if you want a nice balance between defense/reqs. It's light armor, so no run/walk or stamina penalties, can get well over 500 defense, and only requires 103 strength.

hmm ok then ur rite plus i recieve a boost from the botd anyway so it would prolly be best to boost my life all the way and leave dex for the min rite?

dont count too much on your botd for life...iirc +vita from items dont get affected by BO, so the botd only gives +120life, which isn't really that much....i think assuming lvl 30 bo, you can get over +120life just from three 20life scs

...and ya, the sacred isn't needed IMO, i put some points into str for my COA, so i can use a dusk nigma and with it, i get around 10k def even with a crappy shout (lvl8 base or so) and no shield (since i dual-wield)....if u decide to rebuild and make it base strength, go with a mage plate enigma

ok then but im going to get a max bo on base which is 20 so when i use equipment like bo sticks and the gear that il be wearing to get a better bo
