View Full Version : Ladder Pure Charger but how am i gonna handle PI's
I know, I know...it sounds basic and boring, but I had a lot of fun with my last charger. He had an elemental back up of wearing dreams which gave a nice lightning dmg boost. Well, in the early new ladder days I don't have the luxury of a dream helm/shield set up.
Does anyone have suggestions on doing elemental dmg to supplement my charge? I was trying to think of a nice elemental wep on switch, but nothing comes to mind.
My basic charger set-up...
20 might
20 vigor
20 charge
20 fanat
15 holyshield

i really dont see why you are maxing fanat, but w/e....if you need elemental dmg for pip's get a baranars or some 2hander with massive elemental, cant think of one right now but bound to be one, lightsabre would also work

I would opt for a way to break Physical Immunities, instead of building up another skill, since Charge has a lot of synergies. There are two basic options:
1. Have an ACT-2 merc w/ a Reaper's Toll (unique Thresher):
Two-Hand Damage: (34-40) To (408-479)
Required Level: 75
Required Strength: 114
Required Dexterity: 89
Durability: 65
Base Weapon Speed: [-10]
+190-240% Enhanced Damage (varies)
Ignore Target's Defense
Adds 4-44 Cold Damage
11-15% Life Stolen Per Hit (varies)
33% Deadly Strike
33% Chance To Cast Level 1 Decrepify On Striking
Requirements -25%
2. Have a Lacerator (unique Winged Axe), on you 2nd weapon slot:
Throw Damage: (17-21) To (150-186)
One-Hand Damage: (27-34) To (140-173)
Required Level: 68
Required Strength: 96
Required Dexterity: 122
Base Weapon Speed: [-10]
Max Stack: (180)
+150-210% Enhanced Damage (varies)
+30% Increased Attack Speed
33% Chance of Open Wounds
Prevent Monster Heal
Hit Causes Monster To Flee 50%
33% Chance To Cast Level 3 Amplify Damage On Striking
Replenishes Quantity [1 in 4 sec.]
These solution should work for 90-95% of the PIs. Certain stone-skin PIs, are going to stay immune. That's when you turn Vigor on and run! :D

One point in Vengeance would do the trick too, since you'll be using a high damage weapon to charge anyways

You can't be more wrong. I have a Zealot w/ an Ethereal Lacerator and he almost never worries about PIs.
Nice elemental wep would be gimmershred or baraners gimmershred has more elemental but id like to see what 200% bonus to attack rating would do to ur already god like attack rating. The attack rating is y he is useing zeal not to mention u get the best overall damage/ speed combination.

I like this route.
I have a viperfork somewhere on a mule. I could put that on switch w/ 1 pt in vengance w/ +5 skill bonues for +6 Veng. It does 300+ dmg, good range and 50ias I think. I'll give that a go.

I wish you well. However, Vengeance without a shield in herd of PIs is usually a recipe for disaster.
