IK Whirler vs Ubers

Hi all


How does an IK Whirler fare vs the Ubers? I figure the set gives alot of resists, damage to demons, and a fair amount of crushing blow (up to 40%)


The WW hits both minons and the Ubers, and a wand of Lifetap cast prior to combat should make things alot easier...no?

Anyone try this yet? if so, what were your results?

Today I took on Uber Duriel with IK setup minus the armor. So basically no resists...

He hits hard. My ar is good. 20k WW with demonlimb enchant. Apparently I could leech of the guy but it wasn't happening. If I had the armor I guess it would have been a slightly easier battle. Little more AR and resistance to his cold damage hits. And the defense gain would have been great to have.

But then I'm looking at Lilith stats. 30 AR?! Poison damage? I need the IK armor before I'm going that far.

Whirlwind barbs are utterly destroyed by the ubers. Unlike frenzy barbs you are heavily dependent on mana leech and avoiding any mana burn. You would also have to stop whirling to cast howl to have some room to whirl and in that time they could regen life. The key thing is that whirlwind can't trigger life tap :)

With an IK set, you wouldn't be 'triggering' life tap, you'd be casting it with a wand on the switch.

And you don't need room toWW, as WW goes through targets.


So far the only drawback I'm hearing is the mana drain thing, which can be a problem. But then, a few whacks with Concentrate and the mana refills easily, no?

anyone else have any experience with IK WW vs Ubers?
