Oath in which weapon for a Frenzy Barb?

Hello, I'm gonna make Oath for my Frenzy barb and I was wondering which weapon is the best of it. I looked through the previous thread dealing with this, but couldnt find a final answer, especially concerning PvM frenzy.

Obviously ethereal, and it'll be a lot easier finding one of the weapons that will get 4 sockets at larzuk. So probably wont do Berserker Axe.

I've heard good things about Cryptic swords, but Im not sure about their damage. At least theyre fast.

Or maybe a conquest sword, or small crescent would be good options?
Are the differences even that big? Should I spend the extra time needed looking for a specific weapon, or just make it in the first I find (which is a cryptic I already have by the way, eth. sup. 7ed)

best sword is eth oath balrog blade
for the ultimate style i say eth scourge :drool:

Cryptic swords offer insanely high max dmg but equally low min. Not that it was a problem with my oath cryptic sword wielding zealot though.

Balrog Blades also have low minimum damage. Theyre not as fast, dunno.
A zealot isn't a barb, but I think maybe he shares the fast attack speed. The frenzy barb attacks so fast, he'll land many hits, so maybe a high max damage is fine.
Scourage's also have really low minimum damage, and a lot of people use those.


Any other opinions?

I would go for the small crescent. Easier to find/trade for, high avg damage and one-handed for easier trading if you dont need it anymore. Requirements also aren't too high, unlike some swords. Your cryptic is nice too, i wouldnt worry about low damage on such a fast weapon; you wont probably see it.

Cryptic sword has too high dex req for my taste, I went with champion sword (offers also range 3), + a death collossus sword. Champion is a little faster than balrog blade, but also a little higher dex req.

This is PvM, so if I need to put a few more points in dex, it isnt such a big deal IMO. With CTC life tap from Dracul's the life barely has a chance to go down anyway...

I guess I'll try and look for a small crescent before I settle for the cryptic. Paladins use cryptic oaths right? (Thinking already about the re-sale value)

Thing is, the small crescent is 20% slower than the cryptic sword... Accroding to the weapon speed calculator (if I used it right), with an oath cryptic and say, a lightsabre (what I use right now), I'll only need 10% off weapons to reach 5 fps with frenzy...:scratch:
