Zealot help

Hey well ive made a zealot lvl 55 currently maxing all skills needed, and now im wondering what end game gear am i looking at?
Helm: dusk deep for res (since its low and dmg bonuses)
amu + rings: angelics for the ar :|
Armour: rattlecage
Boots: goblin toe
Belt + gloves: death set for ias no freeze and such
Weapon: 104 dmg naga 5ll 1xxar 40Ias...
shield: +2 pala 15/10 poison res and 10 light res ( i figure maybe i could get prism and get some more res here

Any advice would be handy as im still having problems even killing some stuff in hell (i know there like not good but no one else is doin em much so i figure il give it a try)

Its because bliz in this 1.10 patch didnt care about any other paladins except foh'ers and hammerdins in classic. In LoD a zealot is viable, especially since they dont always have to encounter Iron Maiden cursing mages from level 75 on up.

I might switch gear a bit. I would go with a wormskull, for poison damage to stop monster rehealing, which is an enormous pain. If resists are still a big problem, u might want to go with a Ward shield with high priz or a 3 pdiamond tower shield socketed. What aura are u using? Fanaticism? Then ur attackrating wont be so bad. If u are using holyfreeze or some other aura, then u will prob need those angelics. Why rcage? it scares the monsters away. The only way to defeat the flee mod there is using the Coif unique helm. Zealots never want to scare monsters away, then they reheal and that sucks. Rare armors can provide fhr and resists that u might need. I have still seen many players have a real tough time out there, some real good ones with many high lvl paladins in the past, some of them seem to give up. But any paladin with good auras, fan, salvation, cleansing, holy freeze are super good for the party, everyone likes them.

Hell viable gear that costs a dime a dozen. It also garauntees some fun in the pvp arena

The only fun u will have in hell with that gear is fun laughing at yourself..... clegs sword shield min dmg is so horrible, and also low range. and also no resists with that equip so u cant even survive in cs or anything, i have goldskin to add resists and rattlecage for the crushing blow added with goblin but i could use a different armour i haven really bad resists so i have to use goldskin at the moment :( im a fana zealot.

are you kidding me? Yes this is a fanat zealot setup. Realise that clegaws sword on a zealot is godly.

EDIT: oh wait, i forgot, your one of those zealots who stand around in sora runs to lvl up.

The setup i just reccomended is more suited for soloingp1-4 hell, not in a big party, with no help. Then again i only really consider myself x lvl if i killed

Slappy don't knock it till you try it. The low fpa with crushing blow is sweet. Who cares if you have land a single hit that does like 25 damage - you already did hundreds in the last 0.75 seconds.

YOU CANT.... solo hell without any resistance I have a 104 dmg 40 ias naga and even some good resists and it wont kill in cs properly and i have been using clegaws for so long, the fact is no resistance = dead for a zealot. and i dont just stand there in runs i get involved, i asked for help not some person saying how having you can have no resistance and solo hell. to much elemental dmg to have nearly minus resistances which u would have with the gear u listed and i do about 1000 dmg with 4 frame zeal and it still doesnt stand a chance. AND you cant have fun in a duel with a range 1 clegaws sword, you couldnt even touch a barb with ww who has more than range 1 weapon (so all of them) and there isnt much zealots, and sinceu have no resistance you dont stand a chance vs any type of elemental dmg, and Iron maiden kills you if ur vs necro, so basically you can duel nothing.....

This is true, but the gear fred described combined with a 3 diamond tower has +87 all resists along with a ring slot to top up your fire and lightning. Not quite max but enough to get by unless you're swarmed or under conviction.

Iron Maiden WON'T kill you vs a Necromancer. I'm not too fond of his setup, but he says it gets the job done, so it does. To me, it seems heavily PVM. The fact is, although less defensive, that build CAN kill. I don't have to test it; why would I? If you're having troubles in Hell- it might be time to completely remake. If you can't kill a single monster, then well, you're not getting anywhere fast. If you do want some speed, I suggest a Power-Zealot with high Defence and a main investment (300+) in Str. That way, you can dish the damage, leech most your life back, and still repel many physical attacks. Of course, resistances required :)

In my opinion killing speed > survival. Although having a balance between the 2 is best, if i were to choose 1 or the other, guess which.

I told you that setup works. Range isnt important pvm, and in pvp, if they run you probably wont hit them anyway. You gotta desynch next to them and smack em.

You have to use clegs shield + sword for a 4fpa zeal. Otherwise you would use clegs gloves + sword which = 5 fpa zeal (cause you couldnt use deaths combo)

Basically, 5 fpa with balance, or 4 fpa + higher dmg. Ive tried both, and, my opinion has to count for something.

Then again, you dont have to use clegaws, but its better than the rare you have.

i just told u i have 40 ias naga, 30 death set, and 35 of fana so i have 4 fpa zeal and 100 dmg i have like 65 crushing blow, it just seems that they are just so underpowered its stupid. and res are so important that i have to like sacrifce crushing blow to get resistance (goldskin) in pvm

So you arent actually using the rcage now. And if you were, u would be causing them to flee and they would reheal and come back to you partially rehealed, so why dont u actually just test the rcage and find out that its something u just dont want to ever consider using again. :cheesy:

I play all the time with barbs who use rcage, with my barbs and necro and sorc, and they are ALL a real PAIN in the caboose. The rcage wipes out all my necros curses. It scatters all the monsters my sorc is trying to static or orb or firewall. It scatters all the monsters in the pack my ww barb is trying to kill. It scatters some of the monsters my warcry barb is trying to attract into his range. Rcage sucks for cs parties. It's good for weak solo barbs who die real easy, and is just never good for zealots in pvm, pvp is another story.

If u think extra crushing blow is good for a second or two, think again. Two-thirds of the time the monster is fleeing and rehealing before he comes back. Maybe other players in ur party will be making the actual kill.....

I dont use rattlecage for pvm, thats what goldskin is for even still i have low resistance and thats where the problem lies i can kill things not like at record speeds but ok, its dieing to fast thats killing me off im lvl 61 got 940 hp and health is going to be pumped thru final levels and i still have + stat quests and stuff im just saying i was lookin for some help regarding godly equiptment and what i should aim for, i believe my naga is pretty much the best im going to be able to aford with high Ar, 5ll, 40 ias and some other mods, atm tho i have a +2 pala 15/10 shield but its not prism, so i have 2 choices sell my soul to the devil for a prism one, or sell alot of items for a good grim shield with prism which would help me out in the resistance front.
