View Full Version : Hellforge rushing effeciency

Hiho,

I plan on rushing a lot of chars to Hellforge in HC. I will use a bonenecro for killing.

This is how I plan on doing it:

Act1: Make game with a rushee, join with rusher and 6 more chars
Speak with townsfolk and make safe portal to Andariel and kill
2: Get cube, log off with 1 one rusher with cube on him, get staff, amu, tank Summoner(merc+golem) and go down with rushers, tal rasha, tank Duriel at wall, go down with rushers
3: Clear travi wp, get a rusher to safely trigger quest, get all rushers to trav wp, then clear full durance lvl3, do moat trick, finish
4: Get rusher to trigger hellforge, kill smith, park chars safely in sanctuary
5: Use public game for getting through Act5

Therefore I have a few questions regarding quest trigger radius and such.

Summoner: Do I need to have all of chars or just 1 at Summoner quest trigger radius, when he dies or does parking them at Arcane wp work too?

Travincal: Do I need to get in quest radius with a char being rushed of coor can I park them at wp and then trigger the quest with the rusher?

Durance: Same question as Travincal, does the Kill Mephisto quest update need to be triggered by the rusher or a char being rushed?

Hellforge: Trigger radius again, and how far away can I park
chars to get killcredit on Diablo in Chaos Sanctuary?

Rules for rushing. Ill do them all.

Act 1: Rushee can be anywhere in cat 4

Act 2: Best doing quests insteasd of logging off 1 char. You dont need to do cube quest just loan one out.

Act 2a : Staff clear area have rushee get staff from chest
Act 2b: Amulet , once again clear area or atleast alter - vipers cant climb steps so your only concern is skellies and the ones that raise them.
Act 2c: Summoner- this is the toughest part. Rushee must have some part of the platform summoner is on to get quest. This is where most leaches die.
Act 2d: Duriel- rushee can stay in staff room while you kill Duriel, once hes dead they can come down and talk to the angel - dont pay attention to what the quest log says.

Act3: Ive found the back wall is the best place to park rushee for Trav quest. Just clear the area and have a tp against the back wall. Do your killing of trav towards the front of thier "lair" so stray hydras dont spawn.

Act 3b: Mephisto can be obtained anywhere in Durance 3- though getting rushee into red portal can be tricky if council doesnt cooperate.

Act 4: Ive found best spot for rushee is behind the little outcropping near the middle seal. This spot will guard against his fire ring - providing he doesnt move after he spawns.

For all quests only 1 rushee needs to be in the quest area.

Edit: if your going for true efficiency make a sorc in classic and rush them to act 4 hell.

I don't know what you mean, but generally I have my mules so that the mule can't see the platfrom on his screen. The mule is never on the actual platform, more like 1-2 screens away, and he still get quest.

A faster way to get through act 2 is to have a durimule propose the game then leave when someone else joins. Then get a high level character to clear from harem all the way to Duri and kill him.Get one character needing the quest to run through from the harem through the arcane to speak to Tyreal (some stamina pots help) whilst the rest stay in town and get the quest automatically . The high level character may leave to make room for one more rushee before Tyreal is spoken too.


In this case the Summoner quest, claw temple quest, assembling the staff etc are not needed to progress to act 3.Spare cubes are dropped on killing the council.

A Bonenecro doesn't strike me as the most effecient character to say the least. He's got relatively low life, relatively low damage now that the Marrow bug is fixed, and he can't even teleport.

I did a lot of this last season and found that having multiple characters made things a lot faster. I primarily used a meteorb, javazon and skelimancer with marrowalks (but bug is fixed now so...) Are you doing these by yourself running 8 computers or what? I only had four computers running last season and it was a long ardous pain in the tuccus. Seemed like the game knew what I was doing and kept giving me sol runes in NM :( Good tips from all the previous posters though. Meteorb would definately be a better choice for the primary rusher at least up to act 2 hell though. Mostly used the zon for clearing chaos in NM.

Edit: And yeah, you'd be better off in classic to at least get them past NM.

Thanks for the tips, probably made me a few chars richer ;). I'm only gonna do it for a short time, so the extra waiting time to get through Baal in a public, should hopefully be lesser than building a classic sorc.

I got an amulet with teleport charges on the necromancer, so that should help somewhat. I plan on running 4 clients on each computer with a proxy on the second comp and keep an eye out for baal games, while keep rushing new batches of chars.

How are you going to get past ancients in norm and NM? Leach quest in a public game with a bunch of level 1 characters, or multiple ancients games? I.E. 1 for each character? This was the main thing that slowed me down. I got around it by making an enchantress to help me level a rushee to level 20, rush to NM forge then Baal him to 40. After that it is clear sailing to the hell hell forge. With the exception of sliding past that pesky council. Wound up with a lot of characters too doing that. Of course then I had to get gear for them... which meant more rune rushes... and more MF'ing... stop now... go outside... give up this evil game :uhhuh:

Take up knitting or something now... quick... before it's too late :lol:

Ahh.. just reread your post. Your going to try and find public baal quest games? Hmm... I have a feeling that might be somewhat difficult. Good idea though. Still, you might think of making an enchantress, and maybe a BO barb.

i have a noob question as i havne't played diablo in a long time..and startin up again.. what is a "Classic Sorc"?

A sorceress in classic diablo , not the exspansion. You rush characters in classic that way there is no ancients and baal to contend with all the way to act 1 hell minimum then convert said characters to expac and do thier forges on LOD

best is for more then 1 char rush (so you need 2 keys)

Rush 1 to a1
Get 2nd char to duri and kill duri, dont talk to tyreal or whoever the ghost is.
Get char1 in de game. and party. Get char 2 talk to tyreal so both get quest.
From this point boost both chars to a5, doo baalq 4 nmrush game and hope for someon to join :)

How are you going to get past ancients in norm and NM?
theres a bug to skip ancients but leveling would be a pain. :lol:
