They will have to merge the realms at some point, and hopefully they will get off their caboose and do it long before D3 comes out (which seems to be at least several years away now), which when it does, the losses of people still playing diablo2 classic and LoD will be catastrophic. :scared:

I know that in Everquest they have merged like half the servers, or more.

It's true, on USWest, especially since the latest mh banning, the number of games has noticeably declined. :hanky: Maybe it will pick up in a week, when the 1-month cdkey ban expires.

Perhaps they will wait for a new ladder season b4 its done. Maybe they are obsessed about duped items cross-fertilizing between the realms. But the biggest reason: merging the realms is an embarassing official admission that the game isnt as popular as it used to be. Oh sure, it ISNT as popular as it used to be, but denial is job#1 when one of your major games or company is retracting. They closed Blizzard North, so it says on this website somewhere. There is a huge huge effort to promote WoW. But the fact is they lost a buttload of good employees 1-2 years ago, many were critical Diablo creators. Until D3 ever comes out they will try to cloak that fact.

Yeah not as many people play on West HCCL, but if I recall west still managed to completely own East HCCL last season with about 5% of the players (if you consider front page only) and if you also consider that several of the top East players are from West (oCc) you will realize the truth. That west has the best players, just not as many of them. And most of them are busy with things like school and work to spend all day on d2, but they will still end up on top.

Don't be so arrogant. It's a month into the season.

well east ladder>west ladder but europe ladder>east ladder so...yeah but i played all 3 realms and i think west is the best. it's the best for duels, nd that's one of the only reasons i get on d2 anymore. nothing else excites me anymore.

agreed. i always think about rusbarb and gerbarb from way back. probably been close to 4 or 5 years ago now.

When you've accomplished all you want to accomplish on your own, it's easier to work on a team character. Most of the guys in EF have been around d2 for so long they don't really want or desire to have another high level for themselves, they just want to play and have fun. Well and also get the #1 classic character of all realms :P
