View Full Version : I want to play classic again, but know nothing about it!
Last I played was an HC WW barb season 1... I think I'll play SC now for when I want to kick back from HCL LoD. Is the player base decent in classic? What relm are most of you guys on? What builds are viable now? I want to try out some PvP so that means WW barb, bone nec, sorc, or hammerdin right? Are bowzons old news? Can they do anything now? I'll be starting my char tomorrow :D
Thanks!

I want to go back to Boston too, but I've never been there! :bonk:

um.. ya.. no comment.
Anyway, first realize the major differences between classic and expansion. You don't have any uber runewords and uniques.
Some of the basic uniques are really good.. i.e. shard, twitch, etc.
The real good items though come from exceptional rares.
The most popular pvp chars on classic include:
hammerdin
bone necro
fireball sorc
lightning sorc
fohers
lance barbs
The classic guide section is fairly limited right now but I personally recommend bone necro for pvp. I would still suggest building a mf char (possibly mf hammerdin or sorc) to get some decent gear for your pvp char first.

I'll to disagree on the lightning Sorc and you forgot to add orb ,blizz sorcs ,maul babas into the mix.
And good job on your 3k post... you'll take over ash any day now.... any day now...

ya sure.. 17k more posts to go.
I know the differences, I've played classic quite a lot over the past patches. I just haven't played much in 1.10/1.11 so I don't know about builds or anything...
synergies and all that still work in classsic ....... only major difference is the lack of gear you get.... well that and no act 5
