View Full Version : What's up for your weekend?
My b-day happened to fall on Labor Day this year so I have friends coming from Dallas and Longview and spending the whole weekend with me. I have rented a "bunkhouse" (what the apartments call a furnished 3 bedroom apartment which sleeps 6) for the weekend and my apartment will also be full. The first few are to arrive tonight.
The plan is to have bbq's by the pool. Not sure how that is going to work, but that is the plan.
I've already had 3 Shiners and a few (who's counting?) shots of Crown Royal, so I'm ready to get this party started.
I dread next Tuesday, but that's forever away right now.
Happy Labor Day!!!

Happy Labor Day to you too and happy birthday  . I plan to use the weekend to catch up on some homework and organize my desk and other junk. I also plan a little trip to the waterpark on Sunday to relax and cool off. I WOULD go a bit farther but gas prices are too insane  .
Happy birthday and Labor Day!
I'll just hibernate and hope it's summer again by the time I wake up.

Well having no gas around here...might be staying home more than I wanted to this weekend. I hear we may have a few truckers coming in...might get a chance to fuel up and head to the city. Shopping/dinner...would like to catch a movie...hmm.
Wish I could go 4-wheeling like we normally do. But 2 hours away..with possible no gas....no way man. Sucks big time to. All this rain this week woulda made the dirt still be laying down, and made the mud pits great. Figures. Guess I'll have time to mow the yard this holiday.

What's up for your weekend?
A shower.
(I'll explain sometime in the future)
Happy Birthday Freet. How old are you now? 25? 26?
My plans this weekend are: work. That's is. I have a TON of stuff to finish by next Thursday. In fact, time to get back to that...
Watching two entire seasons of The OC so I can be up to speed before the third (and probably final) season starts on Thursday and I can be inducted into our "OC Group" (basically a bunch of people who use The OC as an excuse to hang out together on Thursday nights). My friends and I hung out last night and today and we might do some other stuff.
I have work on Saturday too.

Happy birthday.
Anyways umm I have to work Saturday... Sunday I'm probably going to just call up a few friends to hang out... you know, before school starts.
School starts for us on this upcoming Tuesday (the 6th). Sucky.
Today I went to the high school football game, tomorrow is getting my life back on track after a week of rushing around, and Sunday I will play Hero in the afternoon and hang out with a friend at night.

I had Shiner mentioned in 2 classes today by the professors. And then here it is on the forums...
Ah Crown... one of my true loves. I prefer Crown over Jack when its straight, but Jack over Crown when its with a fine Coca-Cola product.
We (the fire dept) ran a golf tournament on Friday. I'll be in work much of the weekend I suppose.
I think I have Monday off though.

I think I have to work on all three days. But I just returned from insect collecting in the desert and that was fun.
Saturday I'll be at the Clemson vs Texas A&M game. Tailgating most all afternoon. Sunday I will be going to a horse show. I have to haul the 2 girl's horses for them. Otherwise I wouldn't be there cause I'd still be nice and comfy asleep in my bed.
Happy 65th Bday Freet. :uhhuh:

Being a retail worker/laborer I intend to spend labor day weekend like I do every year: working to please non-laborers who actually get the day off.
Labor day is the same as any other day for me. No special plans here. It's just as well - the traffic will suck.
Happy 65th Bday Freet.
:surprise:
65?! Freet pre-dates the great pyramids ... at the very least. I've seen portraits of him slaying mammoths and flying saucers (barehanded) in caveman drawings for pete sake. /smartypants
Happy (early) Birthday, Freet. :)

Happy birthday Freet. Have another crown for me, k?
My plans for the weekend include keeping up with my kids, having friends over for supper today, getting out for a mountain bike ride, trying to do something in <crowbar swings> for the first time Sunday night, then a community potluck thing Monday. Just the usual.

Happy birthday! *hugs*
Just got home from helping a friend move. Carrying furniture up and down is always a saturday well spent, especially if you've only had two hours sleep the night before. :D
So my sunday will contain sleeping and slacking in front of tv/computer. I might have a bit to eat and a bath aswell.

Some friends of mine are having a reunion of sorts with their best friends from college: Jack Daniels and Jim Beam. I believe their ROTC commander, Captain Morgan, will be stopping by.
As for me, I will be spending the weekend studying up for my surgery rotation...got to know what's connected to what.
Painting the house and drinking beer. :drink:
Just hanging around the house, ugh! Total boredom. Won't even have friends over to save? gas for you all back East? Like it will matter. I am parking my truck for now, sold the work van. Not going anywhere unless I just have to. Even cancelled some business plans that can be put off with out hurting anything.

Well; his mom must have been in labor some 40 odd years ago....
So, probably, yeah. :uhhuh:
BTW; I'm back from my holiday on Malta and I'm celebrating my labor day by going back to work! Arghh.... (We don't really celebrate that holiday in Holland.)
I "celebrated" my last saturday much better; a mate and I bought ate magic muchrooms; It was SO awesome......

i went to an adult party where everyone was about 35-60. id have to say, adults know how to throw a party. theyve got the money to too. 2 kegs, bunch of bottles of alcohol, a pool, horse shoes, pool table, lots of great adult music, meat balls with bbq sauce, meat balls with marinara sauce, pizza rolls, smoky links, cheese and crackers, chips and salsa and nacho cheese. lets just say i was stuffed and drunk. we left at about 4:30 am and my buddy was driving on the wrong lane for exactly 7 seconds. i counted.

Happy birthday!
In honor of you I will teach classes on both Saturday and Sunday. No three-day weekends over here.
This coming weekend is my first off in two months so I intend to fill it with drunken debauchery to the level of which the aftermath will tie up significant amounts of federal resources to contain if I do it right.
Well, my 18th birthday was last saturday, so i spent most of the weekend partying my brains out.
