I was trading in op hctrader on West, when I saw a person banned for attempting to pk the owner of the channel. Now as I see it, regardless of your views on pking, the channel is for trading, and pking is a part of the game. The channel does not have any rules against pking, and in fact has employed the former leader of BMPK as a moderator of the channel. They hypocracy makes me want to scream. When I called the owner on his clearly irrational and unfair banning, I nearly got banned myself. I used to moderate for this channel, I quit because of the actions and inability to work with people of the moderator, known as Closednow, or Mike. I don't even want to have to trade there. So, here's my solution:

I'm starting a new channel, but not a trade channel. The channel is specifically a club, it's located at op d2elites on whcl. The idea is to have a good population of people willing to rush/baal/play with, public or private. No handouts are required of you, no freebies, etc. This is a channel for people to play together with trustworthy people, to have a rush or baaler when you need one, and to give another option for trading in the event we get the numbers I'm projecting.

We don't really want very many rules. The idea here is that a lot of different people with different ideas for what the game should offer, can come together and help one another and enjoy the game on another level. For this reason, it is invite only. Invite your friends on your f list, keep in mind we want this to be trustworthy people only. Since it is invite only, do not advertise the channel in other channels, or in other games. No advertisement is needed, friends will suffice. That said, here are the rules:

Do not advertise the channel
Invite your friends you trust
Do not scam people, this violates the idea of trust
You are welcome to frequent any other channels, (ie: hctrader, hclt)
Clans are welcome, this is a club, not a clan
No character or account tags needed
And please, no begging for items, freebies will be offered not expected.

My account is Sh4ttered, feel free to message me about any questions, comments, or suggestions. I know the population is trustworthy here, which is why I extend the invitation. Thanks! :)

That trading channel was a huge reason I quit D2. You had to walk on eggshells or get banned. Thier pricing system was idiotic and forced you to pay what they though everything should be worth.

I used to trade in that channel and just cahrge 50% of whath price guide said I should just to **** em off, course that got me banned.

Love the idea of a "community" channel, because frankly there isnt one anymore. Most peoples friends lists are empty forcing them to play solo or brave the TPPK battlegrounds ( I assume TPPK is out ). Good luck

I know the population is trustworthy here, which is why I extend the invitation. Thanks! :)

The reason I say no advertisement, is the minute Mike gets wind of this at hctrader, he will brand it an evil channel, and people who enter here will be banned. This is how he keeps his channel going, by owning his members in fear. I don't want this channel to have anything to do with him. And like I said, I let you guys know because you're trustworthy, and generally nice, excluding of course the occasional snide remark :)

I know it's just a channel name, but don't you think it sounds a bit conceited?

Other than that, I think a "community" channel would be a great thing to have. There's been gat-west, scf-west, and some may remember mention of theoutpost (after scf officially died it was a channel for me and my friends that didnt really get a chance to take off).

Then there's been op hctrade, op hctrades, op hctrading, op hclt, and now op hctrader (im sure there have been many other attempts aswell).

Bah, if only we could turn back the clock a couple of years!

/op hctrader has price guides? I just discovered this channel a week ago and pop in now and then to trade stuff I find while playing. I have no idea what things are worth and the people I trade with do not either. More importantly, we do not care. My trades go something like this: +3 Paladin Combt skills Coronet for trade. Need Necromancer gear. /w....or Need Vidalas amulet, will trade another set piece for it. /w.... Basically, I just swap items with people who need what I have with what they have that I need. Price guide? Not everyone who trades in Diablo 2 and in channel /op hctrader is that serious about items. No one has tried to moderate or dictate the value of my trades either.

Reyla, you're quickly going to discover that the channel is run by a pretty immature guy, for being 27 years old. He's actually quit playing d2, since his 84 sorc died, and just moderates the channel. It's become his own little playground, and it's getting pretty old. Last season it was the same thing. All he does on d2 is moderate the channel now. When a pricebot gets up people will take it for gospel and you'll never be able to get a trade outside the perimeters of the pricebot. Supply and Demand is too difficult a subject for him.

Regardless of the trade antics in that channel, I really just want a large channel for people to baal and level with. I see it as advantageous to have a large f list, and this way we can have it be beyond 25. Trading may go on in there too, but my ultimate goal is a group of people who I can trust and enjoy playing with. I have about 10-15 people on my f list who are looking forward to it's completion, and then it should be smooth sailing. We can eventually even do uber trist together :D.

I'm working with the bot owner to get all the logistics under control. I'll post more information as it becomes available.

I don't get it, am I missing something?

I quit for abou ta year and a half, and jus tcame back. Before I quit, everyone just used the default BNET trading channels...

What caused this to change?

The default trade channels wre being raided by spam bots, it got to the point if you squelched them all over half your screen was red "xs". The new channel was made to keep out the spam bots but that eventually went by the way side as "exceptions " were made.

By what Firefox says it looks ljust the same as it was last season when I quit. A channel of immature dupers and cheaters on a power trip. Thank God we still have this sites trade forum to use !

Channel population decreased greatly because a while back blizzard made it that when you log in your character sits in a "lobby" instead of being dumped in a channel. This was the same if you joined a game and left, you would be back in the stupid lobby. This resulted in the hardcore and specific class channels becoming completely deserted.
