View Full Version : Unusual LAG anyone?

Over the last few days, I've been getting this strange lag. My computer freezes for about 5 tp 10 seconds, then suddenly it goes into fast-forward. Usually this isn't too much of a problem, since my merc can handle things most of the time, but it just happened teleporting to Meph. My merc killed 4 or 5 dolls in a second or two, and I barely came out of it alive.
The fact that I can act during this fast forward period, and my actions are also in fast forward suggests to me that it's server side. Anyone else experiencing anything like this?

This used to be a problem back in 1.09. I remember it happening a fair bit.
(Apparently) there was a glitch in those fast bugged games which allowed you to dupe...

The pc lags, and then everything moves quickly (doesn't just jump to where it would be). I had something similar happen to me, and it was most definitely a clientside issue. Programs running in the background (for me Opera and iTunes) can do it, as well recently played media files. Check for both, delete temp/cache files, go from there. Windows XP has that nifty task manager program that tells all open tasks and how much memory each one takes. Sort by memory, kill the top few if possible/necessary.

I noticed this a few times tonight too . Locked up for a few seconds then speeds up really fast . I never died either but was wondering if it was Bnet or my machine ..

I get this too ever since I "upgraded" from Windows 98 to Windows 2000 some years ago but I have learnt to live with it. It's my crappy PC and only happens in certain areas. (Never had it with Win98).
The issue I've noticed and reported on in the bugs forum is that since this patch whenever I open the trade screen or go shopping it pauses for 1-2 seconds making it difficult moving items about in the stash. But it only ever happens with inventory screens.
Odd.
