so a friend and i just decided to try out the paladin. what we are trying to do is make two different pali's who will only fight together as a party, and whos skills tho different will compliment each other. it would be nice to use auras together, but im not sure what builds this would really work for best as a team. it would be nice if we had a team that could go through hell games with not too much difficulty.
also looking for some fun yet effective builds. i think we would both be bored with hammerdins after a while, but at the same time if we cant beat hell andarial that wouldnt be much fun either. we are both rather poor, just started playing again after a long hiatus so we only have what our level 50-60 necros have found which isnt much. im gonna look at more of the guides now.
any ideas would be appreciated!

go for holy freeze and holy shock, they dont need very good items and there wont be immunes for u if u play together...

Concentrated/fanatic avenger + conviction avenger
One use might merc, one use defience. Both merc use some aura stuff like doom or whatever.
Both have skill points for HShield and stuff. And the DAMAGE. WOhoo.
OK, never tried, but I like the sound of it...

the only guide i could find for the freeze;shock;fire auras was this one here http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=365416&page=1&pp=10 and it requires equipment that is waaaaaaay out of our league right now. would there be any other options for this? it sounds like alot of fun, maybe we try that when we can afford it
and bruthor i take it you mean they would both use fanaticism as a main attack, with one using concentration and the other conviction (only saw one avenger guide so this is what i understood)?
both of these sound cool, thanks for the input! any other ideas out there?

Did he not just say he wasn't rich?
N/o but some of you always list these top items as if they are more common then rejuvenation pots...
I don't mind you saying what the ultimate build/items would be as long as you also mention the items most of us have, or can find.

First idea to come to mind is that both are zealots. One use fanat aura, one use concentrate aura. Their mercs can use might and defiance.
Actually the pally without the fanat will be slower and weaker, so perhaps it should be 1 zealot 1 hammer. The zealot can still get benefit from conc aura.

sofar im leaning towards the avenger suggestion. it would be nice not to worry about whatever immunities there might be. at the same time tho it seems like it would be slow having to click on like everything. i dont know, i used zeal once and i guess it kinda spoiled me.
the zealot and hammer combo might be nice, but honestly i think it would get old rather quick and the hammer sound would drive us both insane after a while

okay so before we used any skill points we abandoned the avenger idea. we just dont think it would be very fun for us. we're gonna try to do one of us shock and the other freeze maxing all synergies of course. we have a few plus skills items but im wondering if this will still be stroung enough to get through hell as a combo, or if we really need expensive items to make it work?
its okay if the characters suck individually, we will only use them together. are we wasting our time?
are we wasting our time?
As long as you're having fun, playing whatever class, whatever build, time is never wasted!

My vote is for a standard fanatic zealot, along with an elemental zealot ;) Should be more than doable untwinked, and if you have some decent items and don't mind passing on, then it will for sure work.
In case you don't know the latter build, it's the same as a reg zealot, but with conviction instead of fana. This solves any ar issues and most immunities. Any equipment that adds elemental dmg is for you.
Since you like zeal anyway, then why not make 2 ;) Have fun no matter what you choose
Sorry forgot to mention that if you choose the holyshock and holyfreeze, you will run into ar issues if you don't find or twink items. But as already said, just have fun no matter what you do :)

No imagination.
How about:
Pally 1:
Holy Freeze Zeal Pally w/Might Merc
PAlly 2:
Charge Pally w/Conc as main aura w/Act1 merc with that bow that gives Vigor and the new Zon armor that gives chance to cast Valk
This way PAlly 1 gets big cold AND phys dmg, while Pally 2 has huge phys dmg, really fast movement, and he does not have to worry about crowd control due to holy freeze and having Vigor.
One pally will tank it out while the other one basically snipes stragglers or breaks up groups. HF pally can handle small packs while Charger blows up single targets, bosses, etc. Conc is better for this case since dmg shared is higher and IAS is not that important for charge

"Pally 1:

That is a cool idea but the holy freeze pally will probably need a blessed aim merc to hit anything in hell. Maybe holy freeze with blessed aim merc, and charge pally with a might merc or give up on might and keep the act 1 merc. Even with out the might merc they will still do a ton of damage, esp if you can scrape up a beast ax between the two of you.
avenger/conviction/might merc + zealot/fanaticism/hf merc
You won't need blessed aim, because conviction will reduce the defense of the mobs.
