Hey all im a new comer coming to classic from expansion well I was semi rich on Expansion and its just geting so boring I feel like playing classic ladder on useast I hear its pretty fun well heres my question im gonna make a sorc to start me off so what kinda skills stats should I go with remeber im playing untwinked and I got no friends or anything to help.I want a one element mf sorc because I can most likely finish the spots where a one tree sorc can't do in a public game. Should i Go Blizz or Orb +static+warmth? I'll mainly be farming meph andy diablo in norm and nightmare any input would be very much appreciated and if you want to play with me or help me out acct is

I would suggest pure fire sorc for mf and pvp if you want. Those are a lot easier to handle in classic and the skill distribution should be pretty easy.

Basically your stats should be:

strength: enough for gear
dex: enough for shard
vital: everything else
energy: none

For mf, go for hell andy.

I'm going to say the opposite and go Cold Sorc. They're the best Sorcs for mfing since Frozen Orb is godly in NM. It's a nice way to start off so you can mf and pick up stuff for your future characters.

Hmm - No energy? I've found that Classic Sorc's need a bit of help in the Mana department - even more so if you don't have some basic gear waiting in the wings. Tele burns a lot...

I like Blizzard if you intend to play in team games - you can stand back a bit and rain down big damage, using the melee folks to hold off the creatures.

For Solo play - I prefer Orb for the crowd control aspect, and the damage handles Nightmare very well. Blizzard tends to be a bit slow striking, and too many monsters wander through it for my liking.

no energy. That's what blue pots are for.

You need all the health you can get in classic.

You need some energy you fool, ever think about energy shield? I think that avatar is getting to your head... lol j/k.

But seriously, if you plan on using ES, which you probably will, you'll need about 60-100 energy. It will vary depending on your items and how much you have into ES.

BTW choson, use some damn comma's...

And orb sorcs are the way to go if you plan on doing some pvp, if not go with blizz.

Only one into warmth and Orb/Static isn't as effective as Blizz.

ES in classic? Nope, waste of skill points in my opinion.

Take it easy, dude. "Fool..., going to your head..., damn commas...". Wow, all in one post, too. This is a forum for trading ideas and making the most out of an incredible game. Not a place to call names and yell at people.

I was thinking the same Dacar so what if I didn't use any commas it's not like im getting graded on this for english class seems like you read it ok to me Another thing is why make a blizz sorc when I said went orb static why not just leave some positive info or something that might help me

I may be wrong, but I read in some place that Static Field in can't down monters health below 50% in Hell? If that's true wouldn't that be useless?

That's in the expansion. In Classic, repeated static can take monsters down to a sliver, even in Hell. Thus the interesting spectacle of sorcs soloing Hell and running into Fire/Cold immunes and using static to bring them down to a sliver and then using Telekinesis to finish them off. Yes, TK does cause a tiny amount of damage (1-2 at level 1, more with +skills...) which can be enough in that situation and is often better than whacking them with a staff or wand since there is the stun/knockback effect and you don't have to worry about your comically low AR. If you have a merc, the knockback is also a bonus in that situation and that will help him finish the Fire/Cold immune off.

A high level Static in Classic is a great thing as it can lower the health of a huge crowd very quickly and allow your party to cruise. I haven't seen it this ladder season, but back in 1.09 classic when Hell Cows had better drops, there would be Hell Cow games where a Sorc would tele around staticing the whole Moo Moo Farm until there were just hundreds of cows just barely alive and then characters who were wearing massive MF gear could finish them off, Frenzily stabbing them will dual Gulls and such. (And running away when they ran into the odd cow which didn't get staticed...)

You need it in Classic for orb sorcs. Just look around ya. Look at the godly sorcs that populate the duel servers.

Lol... its difficult to read without the commas. There was a reason why we have it in every language.

Any ways... Im just giving advices. I'm not fibbing when blizz sorcs are more effecient than orb/static.

But anyways DO NOT PUT ANYTHING EXECPT ONE INTO WARMTH. There we go... happy?
