View Full Version : D2 crahses after I make a game
I don't know what this is happening since I have never had this problem before, but two seconds into me joining or creating a game diablo 2 freezes and I have to end task it becasue it is not responding. The only thing I can think of is that I just moved back into my apartment and since the cable company won't be here until the 9th I am connected to the internet through my neighbors wireless router, so could his router be the problem?
Edit: I can still play fine on single player this only happens on battle.net, and it runs fine while i am in a chat channel just can't join/create games.

Do you get a C/I at all, or does it just freeze on you. What OS are ya running and stuffs like that?
I run xp professional, and diablo II still crashes no matter where I play so its not the router. I tried re-installing the game but it still freezes as right after I enter a game. I haven't installed anything new on my computer in a year so I don't understand why this is happening. I also haven't played on this computer since the ladder reset but it worked fine the last time I played on it.
Run the video test provided by Diablo 2, and at the end of the test select the other video mode, fixed the problem for me.

Might be your video card drivers or something like that dunno for sure. Try setting it to d3d or direct draw and see if it changes it.
Could this have anything to do with it?

I have no idea what that means however, as it appears to be related to 3d sound you could try reinstalling your sound card drivers as well. Also try upgrading the DirectX on your machine. Hope this helps. If you find a solution please post here so other people can benefit. :)
