I understand (form the page on arreats summit) how much damage OW does.
The question I have is: can a monster have multiple OW (if you have a high enough percentage to trigger OW and/or your attack speed is high enough, you should be able to trigger OW more than once in the 200 frame period OW last).

So: is it possible to trigger OW again in the 200 frame period (8 secs) of OW being triggered?

If so, you would be able to do a lot of damage using OW

Only one instance of open wounds can be effective at any time. Triggering open wounds during its active period resets it if I'm correct.

Hmmm if thats true, then there is no real use in having more that 50% chance of OW (maybe even 25%), if your character has the highest attack speed possible. If your character does 5 or 6 hits per sec, the monster OW will always be triggered even with 25%.

That's correct.

smeer: saves them from having to use very specific OW equipments, and lets them go even faster :)

i think high open wounds is more for pvp. When characters might have 20k defense and 75% chance to block, even a 5 frame attack won't hit that often.

One instance at any time... does that mean there can't be 2 openwounds, 1 from yourself and 1 from your merc? Or 1 from yourself and 1 from a partymember?

Only one instance at a time be it from you or your merc.

Thx. And other party members?

Any monster/character can have open wounds on them at most once. The source does not matter.
