I am making my first Amazon. Bowazon to be exact.
I was wondering, is it better to have multishot or strafe? I see amazons that have either.

I already stuck 10points into strafe and only one in multi.
I've seen some multishots own cow levels and the sort.

Any help or opinions would be appreciated. Or even a link if this has been discussed before with the new patch 1.11

Thanks

It really depends on what you are using the ama for , I would suggest just going with strafe as you have placed 10 points their allready.

since you've already worked on strafe just stick with it. your gear might give enough + skills to have your multishot at an efficient level. back in v1.09 zons would own cows, but not this time around. starfers are primarly for pit runs, but work well at eld and shenk

You go with both. You don't need 20 arrow multishot. I like 10 arrow multi. And with certain bows and plus skills you can achieve that and leave multi at base.

I use both, depending on the situation. When the monsters are huddled in a big, gigantic group, I use Multishot. If they're spread out all over the place, I use Strafe.

I think you meant the other way around. When in packs, strafe with good level pierce works wonders. When spread out like bloody foothills, multi works much better.

Unless you have faith + insane damage gear

1.09 multishot
1.10 strafe

I'll be a bit more clear. If there are a lot of enemies packed together, I use Multi. If there are a few enemies packed together, I use Strafe. If there are a few enemies spaced far apart, I use Strafe. If there are a lot of enemies space far apart, I use Multi.

1.09 multishot
1.10 strafeand 1.11?

either would work...if i already had 10 pts into strafe then i would stick with that....most zons don't max multi anyways so if you have a few pts left you can put them there.

in 1.10/1.11 strafe is a skill that should be maxed or not used at all

it is just too good against one target/a few targets to not pump it to 20

as Evrae altana already said you can use both. Its not really a matter of whitch is best. Its more whitch skill is better in the current situation.
As there is no real reason to max multi you could let +skills put it up to the level you want or just place 5-10 points in it.
(no matter how many +skills you use the amount of arrows from multi maxes out at lev 23, and that is 24 arrows)

having 2 AOE physical bow skills help greatly. As it helps overcome the drawbacks of both skills.

A example:

If monsters slip past your decoy, valk and merc and get to close for comfort, its not a good idea to start strafing at near zeal range due to strafe lock.
As your not locked in place when using multi you can easily fire of a volley or arrows.
Recast your decoy in their face then fire of multi again. After that it should be no problem to retreat a bit and finish them of with strafe.
