Is static field still nessacery? I mean im going to be mfing meph and the moat trick has told us to stay across to the river away from him. Trying to SF meph is a risk, plus waiting 10-20 seconds longer isnt that big of a difference.

In the Blizzard guide, it says max Ice Mastery. I heard somewhere that you only needed -100, which is slvl17 cold mastery. I dont understand, which one should i do?

What about putting one point in warmth?

I love static. It is a 1 pt wonder without any pre-reqs. I believe it's always worth a point here. There are times you want to static that cold immune monster (or even DClone!) to 1/2 life. That said, I can see how some dedicated PvP characters would forgo this skill.

The suggest level 17 is for hybrids (from the Meteorb guide) since that is -100% to resist, which doubles damage against monsters without any cold resist.

If you are going pure cold though, I would definitely suggest you max cold mastery. If you are farming Meph, he has 75% cold resist, so if you can get ur cold mastery to -175% then you are doing double damage to him. With only level 17, you are doing just 25% more damage.

I think this is worth it as well. 1 pt + skill = a lot of regen.

Static is great, not just for meph, dclone or ubers, but for common usage as well. Blizzard has a casting delay so you'll have to do something while another one becomes available. You can spam Glacial spike or use static, depending on situation. Blizz+static=pwn.

Static can also help when you encounter a cold immune, so you can reduce his hp to 50% so your merc has an easier time.

I personally have lvl 10 static ATM (1+9) and it works great - good range. Definitely a 1 point well spent.

it's totally unnecessary unless you are soloing. 1pt static owns normal and nm, which will then allow you to max out your main attack spells for hell.

Alrighty, i deleted my old sorc and rebuilt. She is now lvl 55, just finished with normal baal runs. I hired a HF Merc from NM act 2, and am now doing normal runs for some decent socketable items to make spirit, and stealth.

My sorc is incredibely weak, i have only spend 90 points which have gone to vitality making it 100. My strength, dexterity, and energy are all base. I only have 150 mana, which means i can only cast 3 blizzards at a time, or tele 4 times. Thats horrible.

Right now im wondering what i should do with the remaining 160-170 stat points i have. Dump 140 of them into strength, and put the rest all into vitality or what?

156 str, rest vit.

don't worry about mana. just get an insight on your merc. even a crappy exceptional etheral does like 400 damage.
