Magic finding with summoner

I am somewhat new to Diablo 2 and had a question about magic finding. Sorry if this has been asked before, I tried to search around for it but couldn't find anything.

Currently I am using a summoner/CE MF build. My question is, when my skeletons kill the monsters, does my MF % apply or does it only apply when I make the kill from using CE?

Also, does my MF % apply when my merc kills something, or do i need ot equip him with MF gear also?

example:

you have 200mf, your merc have 100.

If you kill a monster - you got 200mf
If you skeleton kills a monster - he got your mf (200)
If your merc kills a monster - he got your mf + his mf (300)

The only mods that transfer from your gear to skeletons are, Magic find and Gold find.

I might add that skelemancers are awesome magic finders, you just need to take it slowly.

I also assume that you are a pure summoner? And that you are using an act 2 NM offensive merc?
