exactly what the subject reads, what is oias?

I'm in the process of beginning a new druid. Last druid I had was an .09 Huntermentalist who made it to level 91 before I decided to discontinue him. I just want to make this druid b/c I know they are capable of being THE strongest melee class in the game as well as a defensive powerhouse.

I'm perusing through guides, checking out the ias calculator, and came across the OIAS thing you type in. I have most of the gear I want to wear, but I'm actually stuck right in the middle of making a Wolf or Bear build. Any suggestions? This would be a battle.net character and I would be playing with an axe Barbarian, bow weilding Amazon, and a Blessed Hammer Paladin (we're probably going to be doing a lot of 4 player Baal runs, Cows, and Uber Tristram runs to give you a hint).

Someone let me know if it would be a good idea to post the gear I'm thinking of wearing for him.

I've been out of the whole diablo loop for quite a while now, but I think I can answer your first question.

OIAS is Outside IAS, the IAS you get from equipment other than your weapon. I believe that's right if my brain remembers anything.

Hopefully others who are more familiar with druids nowadays can help with the rest.

post what gear you are going to wear but keep in mind a wolf druid's ias is based off it's weapon, i remember back in .09 there was alot of argument about whether its the same with bears too but im almost positive it is.

Ok, thanks, here's what I plan on wearing.

Jalal's (2 of them, one has Um and one has 40/15, which should I use?)
Chains of Honor Boneweave
Upgraded Goreriders
Verdungos/Tgods (pending on situation)
Draculs Grasp/Crafted gloves (20%ias, 3%ll, 2%ml, +10 str, 10%CB) which should I use?
Ravenfrost
BK or Carrion Wind
Highlord's

For weapons setups, I have a few options:
Botd Zerker with Shaeled SS
Uppgraded Shaeled Ribcracker

I also plan on obtaining a Griswald's Caduceus and some sort of Tomb Reaver just b/c I've heard of their attack speeds. But seriously, does the attack speed between 7/4 and 9/5 (is that right?) make a difference?

Once I figure out if my IAS is alright, I'm going to have to figure out my blocking/FHR (FHR breakpoint is 82% for wolf, right?)

I don't play druids all that frequently, but I can't help but comment. Ribcracker is a very nice weapon, esp if you use those 10%cb gloves. Not to mention, ribcracker outclasses any of those high-end runewords. Class is the most important thing
