How could a wind druid do untwinked on the reset? ive never played one before, but it seems like some fun. i figure i can get a spirit sword and shield, but im not sure how much other good stuff i can get ahold of. (+skill stuff). so untwinked, could a wind druid run the ladder ok?
thanks!

I hope someone chimes in with their opinion, cuz I'm wondering the same thing. I just read about the reset and I'm thinking I might start playing again, and I'd love to make a wind druid.

One of first builds on ladder was a wind druid.
He rocked he ruled, PVM.
He killed cows as fast as he could run past them.
Then he went all to hell.
Some people seem to be able to play windies in hell but not I.
Even after I got some half decent gear. I had the wind skill at like level 31.
I'm going to build a new one someday but I think only after I have a full sigons, strength charms and kalim's will.
You need to reach to level 6 to put use your first skill point. Then level 12 for your second skill point.
Then level 18 is where you get a fighting skill you will use.
Wind skills need 81 skill points, and you will want to put them there first.

After a long time away from D2 i decided to start playing HCL, so i can say i'm playing untwinked...
Windies are a nice choice because they can tank alot of elemental damage.
As far as gear goes, a spirit sword is quite easy to get and while you dont find yourself a monarch you can always socket a shield with 3 PDiamonds for the resists ( since you mentioned HC ).
At the moment, my windy is lvl 81 and using a smoke (nef lum) mage plate, a lore (ort sol) crown and spirit sword and shield, with no other gear worth mentioning. He's not a killing machine like a meteorb nor the jack of all trades as a necro summoner but he cleared act2 with 3 other players with no trouble.
So wether you wait for ladder reset or not, go windy!

I agree with the above post. Windys are not the fastest killers, but they are a fairly safe build to play untwinked. You can pick up some nice items even in nightmare to build him up a bit, and get him strong enough to handle hell.
I had great experiences mfing with my windy in hell. Only boss I had a hard time with, was baal, and it wasnt really him that gave me problems, but lister and his minions. I say a windy for first char is a very, very good choice.
As far as my play go's, since my hurricain is already hurting the monsters on my way to the mf spots, I just kill them quickly and if somthing drops, pick it up. I have gotten alot of good stuff from just regular monsters. I notice that with my sorc I tend to teleport past everything to just get to the bosses. IMO I think the more monsters killed, the better chance you have of getting some deacent stuff.
Also, I didnt worry about resists....cyclone armor rocks, but I did have max block. That is a MUST. Anyhow, if you do decide to have a windy for your first char as I will, I wish you luck. Its a fun build.
After reset, when I decide what my account name will be, I will try to find this thread, and put it in. If you want to do some leveling together, I'll be happy to have the company.
Peace out

I agree here, max block is a must. or at least 65% I would say. Lots of mana as well, a nice bahumut ring works great. rest in res all, some faster cast goes a long way once you have a mana pool.
really untwinked is totally possible.
im just hoping for Arctic blast to work in full damage again.
then ill be back. ;)
this last lad season i did wolf till he hit the wall pvm with no good weps then windy. windy worked awsome. im goin windy first thing for reset. good mf, good pvm. great. able to tank.

2 spirits + skin of viper + any fcr gloves gets you past the 99 breakpoint. if your spirits are perfect, you dont even need the glove...............
personally, i would take a spirit shield and a vita build in place of the max block build....simply because the build is skills-dependent. however, with cyclone armor on, you shouldnt be losing life from elemental attacks, so maybe physical reduction is the way to go....(ss and 75 block)
I DONT KNOW!!! hahaha
all i know is that im playing a windy tonight at 12:01 am pst.
yay ladder reset!
