Use Oak all the way, HoW gives nothing but some Ar to rabies....

As a weapon, the one adding more damge is plagebearer (unique and cheap sword) coze it grants +5 to rabies. But is damm slow. As well as hoto (omg...). As well as anything else but a fine 6 shael phase blade, the only real 1 hand weapon vialble in pvp (well, you wise guy can come and say 5 shael+15ias/9x ar jool is better...is true but dont be so picky).

You want a very fast bite and then run away (dont you?).

For the facet thing, you can use it on armor (it works very well). Also have in mind the fact , after infecting the opponent, you swich weapon for one second (and then swich back again to main swich) and have a nice facet collection on weapon and shield swich (6 pf on weapon, 4 pf on shield), the -poison resits stand for all the rabies lengh.

you also can't use the carrion ring anymore for the synergy boost so you'll actually need to put points in the summon

Deaths web is also a nice option to have on switch. It might be a bit cheaper then that faceted sword, and you can also throw a poison facet in it. Also bramble isn't a bad armor.
