Well i know i am in the wrong place here but plz Xora and Knightfall let it run here :D... i only want people in the party from ETF europe in the party, because i know these people....
The whole idea is to form a nice party to play with, and bash our way through the new rised evil.... last season or well the season still runs, who knows for how long, there was also a matchup with some guy's from etf, i just wanna do the same and so keep ETF on #1. though i doubt we will get to number 1 as it will be very hard to all be online @ the same time...
Richo, who unfortinitly got banned by making a stupid mistake, and I will be in party for sure... we are looking for extra m8's to hop in and like to bash dia's big ugly head :D.
Rules,
~Items belong to the party not to 1 guy... [the 1 who needs is the 1 who gets]
~to keep fun into the game we can swap between chars, so u don't get bored of the char ;).
~When we reach 99, or we all just got bored of the party, we split up... The item's on char's stay, items on mules will be shared with all party members...
As we don't know what char would be very good for lvl-ing, we didn't really decided yet to make a leader or not... we first need members to form a party that's our first main goal to have :p.
Just say if you like the idea, what char u like to play and if you would add or deduct any rules or anything.... Richo and i will consider EVERY post
I hope some people are in for it...

Sounds like fun and I am interested.
Would be nice to try to be the first to lvl 99 on Europe again but I can't see it happening unless Blizzard do anything to combat the baal bots :( .

I'll remain skeptical as 1.09 -> 1.10 transition was about as smooth as an Egyptian whiskey. Any1 remember they announced the patch (with no due date) and then announced the downtime.... mass hysteria... then it took a year to come out.

I joined the 1.10 team in the last two weaks, so why not do the complete thing. Count me in.
As far, as I can remeber, you need a barbarian for bo, two sorcs, one for tele to Baal/Diablo, the other for teleing to an xp-shrine ( no one has an enigma in the beginning ) and a lot of Hammerdins, to finish enemys quick, but since there are rumors about a casting delay of 0,5 s for teleport and 0,8 s for blessed hammer, the old technique could be messed up.
I will gladly do the shrinebotting, as I did last time. :D

i've ran with etfontop for their run, all i can say is that it was fun and fast, but it took a great deal of organizing and if you want to try it too, make sure you're up for it.
pm me if you need a hand, if i can, i'll help. I'm only gone for 14 days starting this saturday, but i hope the reset will be before that.

well i dont know if this patch is really going to come out but if it does ill be up for some helping, but will not be able to play as much for the next 2 weeks as i am going on holiday for 2 weeks on sat, hopefully this patch will beup and running and were all havin a good time with it. well enjoy first 2 weeks of patch ill give u some help after :P
EDIT: oops im IceWarrior not Toxis, he is my brother, i am on his computer as he is on holiday atm aswell, but he will probaly want 2 join anyway :P

I remember trying to do a second group last time. Let me say it a simple way: "It does not work." Whispering between he groups keeps the leader constantly stressed and does give him next to no XP gain.

Sandraīs birthday party is over. At least for me, my girlfriend stays, so I can play D2 without being disturbed. :D

I whisper etfontop2 and get answer to go to game 13. Five guys here, none with etf in the name. Things are chaotic, no one knows what to do, Iīm the highest lvl sorc, so I try to go to throne without battle orders, because no baba is there. Iīm lucky and teleport right into a swarm of souls and drop dead. No chance to get corpse so I rejoin and try again. This time I reach throne, open portal, some guys come down. I hurry to act1 and try to find xp shrine. The first shrine I find is xp, so I open tp and go back to act 5. There are two portals to the throne, I take one and Iīm sourrounded by dolls. I swallow red pots, but drop dead for the second time. This time I canīt rejoin due to my portal and simply wait. I canīt say if the leader came to this game, but all were supposed to go to game 14. Before I do, I get a message, that my mate sleepy entered bnet.
1920 cet
I join game 14, and teleport to throne ( again without bo ). Sleepy asks, what Iīm trading for, but I canīt answer, because Iīm having a hard time. I find the stair to the throne, sleepy already found out, that this is xp-run for etf and asks if he can join. As he knows the rules, no one had a problem with that. I wp to act1 to find a shrine, but all leave the game.
1925 cet
Sleepy and I join game 15, but the guy that opend disappears. Were alone, but start the work. Baal is ready, xp is ready, still no one there. I whisper etf2 and tell him the stats, no answer. I wait a minute, try again, no answer. I whisper etf1 tell him about situation, after 30 seconds the leader and the singer join, take the xp, leader kills baal ( only 4 player in game ) then asks me to teleport to cs. I do the job and leader gets angry, that nothing is cleared. He leaves game and sleepy asks me about the bad organisation. A agree. More than that, Iīm starting to feel pissed, because I lost all my xp for next to nothing.

Someone whispers me to come to game 116. This is looking way better. Leader, Singer and etf-Meteor are in this game, someone asks me to tp to cs and open seals. I never did that, but Iīm trying my best. I should have waited for that bo of the singer, because Iīm having hell of a time in the cs. After the second seal, I drop dead, rejoin, get bo and open two more seals leaving the single seal closed. Someone tells me to leave a seal closed, where no monsters appear. I know there is one of them on each side, but as I usually donīt do cs, I donīt know which.
1945 cet
Three more games. I concentrated on finding xp shrines in act1, but was unlucky in two of three games. Someone else wants to do the job, but I feel, I can do that best, because I regularly run the pit and stony field for a cow run.
2000 cet
Things start to run better, as I found three xps in a row.
2100 cet
It must have been xp shrine number 15 in a row and most of them were quick ones, so I could wp to act 5 and help killing baals minions and more importand, get some xp. Players start chatting and making some jokes.
About 2200 cet
We had lag once, still I found an xp-shrines every game. Someone makes a comment about me being a good xp bot. I needed that. Now there is a smile on my face. I started consuming lots of Red Bull and Giotto, everyone was having a lot of fun.
About 2300 cet
I thought even without BO nothing could touch me in act 1. I was wrong. Teled in a bunch of archer bosses and got block locked. Although I swallowed red pots like a lunatic, I drop dead. Singer offers help, but this is something personal. I guess two or three hits will be deadly, while being naked, but lots of Red Bull keep me dodging those arrows and I manage to get my corpse back. I would like to kick the asses of the those archers, but I guess I lost three minutes and still have no xp-shrine. I find one, but its sourrunded by monsters. There is no time to finish them, so I get most of them away from it and open portal. Two monsters still were close, so I hope, leader does not get mad at me.

Girlfriend is back. I hope I donīt have to quit now, but she seems tired and goes to bed. Great, emmm I mean, O.K., I can do some more xp hunts. :D

Still easy and relaxed going. I think, I will get an award as the best shrine finder. Still only two games without shrine.
About 0100 cet
Team decides to make a break of five minutes. Sleepy and I use the time for muling, because he got some nice items. After that everybody is still in the game. In a game where I get xp portal fast, I wp to act5 go through portal to throne, but the area is not cleared and lots of monsters are running around. Would not be a problem, if only I could open a tp. After endless tping and swallowing red pots, I drop dead. Someone asks me, how much xp I lost. Team starts discussion, how pissed you are, when you die at lvl 98 and how much runs it needs to cover the loss in xp. You lose around 7 mio and gain 80 k per run, so do the math yourself :D
0200 cet
Iīm done. I need my bed right now, because I have to work that next day. It is game number 171 that I tell everyone, that this will be my last game. It was a lot of fun doing these games and I would have liked to continue doing this, but Iīm a human being and need sleep. My score: 55 games with the team 53 shrines found, two times I got killed, lost 700000 gold ( peanuts ) and almost got to level 90.
Finally I want to thank the whole team for the nice time I had. I hope Iīll join your mission again soon."

The danger with this is quite obvious.
The previous party was made up of a group of people who new each other well (spent alot of time in OT) and all trusted each other. I helped with exp shrine botting but didn't have access to the main play acc's. Those who know the main account passwords have to be trusted by all...

i see many people want to join in, but as said by others i need trusted people for this party. Richo and I will choose people were we know we can trust them. Every choosen player will also be choosing if 1 player will come into the party or not :). As i also know it will idd take some orinisation but i think i got some time left... before every patch really comes out there always are some testrun's so i think the called maintanance will be a testrun also...
Richo and I will make Acc's with passes, we will also change those once in a while... We let u know ASAP who's in and Who's out ;)!
Some nice info from the ETF veterans of the last 1.10 Team would be very nice! :D

Maybe one of the party rules or directions might be betwenn which hours we should play! Cause it wont be easy for everyone to keep up and play 24/7! I know i cant cause I work + bussiness trips in september, october , november and so forth :uhhuh:

most important rule: (and this really IS important!!!)
only play with etf friends u would give all your passwords too. (seeing many have quit of the oldies, this wont be so easy as in the first race. I repeat this is VERY important. the first ladder char will get offers of MANY euro's on ebay , so any of your player could easily just sell the acc and pass on ebay, get rich, and ***** up the whole idea.

I cant play enough for the moment to be a full time member of it. but the race will take place for a long time. if u do it right u should hit 99 by the end of september, where ill probably have more time to play. so u can count me in for some helping but i wont do the 18hour/day runs 7/7 for 2 months like before.

i suggest u make a own forum for the members of the group only. u dont wont other people reading your game tactics, acc names etc. cuz ull get MASS spamming, people trying to hack u, copy your tactics. this forum should be for the TRUSTED people only, not even for the helpers.

u wont win the race by just doing baalruns. the race is a very precise and timed and 100% organised thing. all players need to know exactly what to do before the race starts. (some training in advcance will help u alot)

just to give an example. lvling from 98 till 99 takes as much time as from lvl1-97.. char needs to be played at LEAST 16hours a day (remember this means u will have to have friend helping even at 5am. (we usually played from 10am till 6am) we had the night and the day shift. also to play the char like it should 16hours /day u need to have a constant 10player online. (seeing as not everyone can be online at the same time, your team needs to have at least 15 people of FIXED players)

about what char to use for main char and other helpers is not really open for discussion, u need at least 8 fixed chars, wich u cant just replace cuz u like to play druids or so.

(im not saying where to lvl to get best exp from lvl1-80 or so, that everyone knows) but what chars to use, and how to kill 3 dia, 3baals in 4minuts. but ill only do it if its in a private forum. (competition will be trying to copy your tactic)

maybe mods can alow to sticky a treath where etf people can give for free items. (mainly in the beginning...) with 250 baalruns a day, ull get nice drops dont worry, but ull need good lvling gear ASAP.

i sugest u take for leader the same name-lookalike. etfontop-leaderII (use names that are very long, so people cant see the full name in channel, and dont whois to get your acc name and msg u. (ull be having MANY spam of people saying gratz and people who hate u)

I believe bugatron would be interested as well, maybe Ant too (too lazy to read all the posts in this thread).
I prefer playing as sorc, maybe barbarian too, but I was mainly thinking of starting the next ladder season with a pure lightning sorc.

Pitty that the veterans don't play much anymore, but time passes and so does the fun ;).
As for the Acc's i would like to know if we can abuse them again but now with a "II" after it. this will stand for the 2nd try, hopefully we can bring another year of glory to this forum! as for the Forum i know last team did it also maybe we can use the same site or otherwise maybe a Lookalike site...
I'll be busy with the orginisation of this the rest of the day. as the rumour goes 1.11 would start 00.00 am tonight. though i doubt it....

Ok ladies and gents! Some spontaneous ideas!
1. We need a strong party that complements each other! With this i mean that some characters are vital for speed, survival and efficiency! IMO the party must include at least 1 sorc, 1 paladin, 1 barb! Why this 3 chars you ask? Well it is very simple i will try to describe why bellow
Sorceress
Sorc has the ability to teleport, thus making party more efficient and gives speed to all party members teleporting and open tp to key locations,
Paladin
Very good character. His auras will help the party killing rate, resistances, and decreasing enemy defences and resistances (yeah conviction here). But he can also function as offensive character or defensive! Besides a pally is good tank too! Maybe should take into consideration that a Medic build my be needed! Party members should discuss this when the party is set!
Barbarian
This bad boy character doesnt need further more presentation!!! GREAT tank, the capability to kill PI when using berserk and when using warcries like battle command, battle orders and shout he is an invaluable character! Important skills to have on a barb and they are very party friendly too!
The other party characters should be chosen to complete the party needs or players can choose them as they like! Hope Triekje gets nice input from Solartje concerning how a team should be built up! :p
2 . The team might need to have more than 8 players! This is an option though but to push the chats in high levels the team needs players than can play almost around the clock! Could be difficult to achieve if party members work, go to school, or have other reasons and cant play all the time. This is of course upp to the party members or the leader of the party! Triekje you have to make some difficult decissions here! :uhhuh: A second choice is to have the core team and to have helpers to the team who volonteer to help us! Might be hard to "recruit" good people for the task though! Again this is a deccision that has to be taken!
3. Like Triekje said items must be divided between the party members and tose who need the stuff most should get it! Class specific item should be handed over to right member party to increase party and individual efficiency! THE KEY feature of this actions is to boost the party first then the individual character/party member!
4. ETF should challange the other teams from other realms! Like US EAST and WEST, ASIA 1 and 2 realms and other europeean teams! WHY? To make this competetive and to show the D2 community that ETF members are a force to be reckon with! :D

5. Might consider how to boost effiency by having helpteames or members who want to donate for our purpose! With donations i mean items to boost the effeciency! Dont know how this obtainable and if "genorosity" is a common and moral action among all members! But it might help the team if we can get outside help!
Another option is a magic find team! To increase ofc the item base for the party members! Solartje brought this up too and he pointed that it might be vital in the begining!
Well thats my instant thoughts at the moment! Some might be way off some may lay close to the game strategy! As individuals we have different opinions and we see things differently! Hope i provided wtih some help to the upcoming Team that is on its way!

There are 26 letters and 10 numbers, so you have 38^8 combinations = 2.821.109.907.456 combinations. If you use other signs like ?")§($/% it will be next to impossible to get the password.

Realm down (sorta thing) after 4 or 5 guesses too down forget. Passowrds are stolen VIA a key logger mostly.
Ladder won't reset! You heard it here first :p

I was actually thinking of suggesting a necro as a fourth "must" char but i was thinking about a necro + his skellies and lag and i restrained myself:P
But you have a good point! amplify damage, decripify lower resist are great skills to use in a party!

Some additional notes to Solly's post:
- First of all, be sure that mods and, most important admins allow you to use ETF as part of your name. We were very careful with this from the very beginning last time, as pissing owners is not a good policy for a party, so having their permission beforehand might be a good idea. I wrote Frygs & Elly a PM before we started, asking their opinion.
- Only 1 person will register the accounts with the e-mail address on creation, so 1 can always reset passwords in case things go wrong. Our 1st rule was "if anything goes wrong, if items dissapear or accounts are emptied, if anyone changes a password and/or uses the common chars for own use during the ladder race, all the chars in the accounts will be erased by the creator of the accounts". This means that if anyone tries to take advantage of the group, not even him will have a profit as nothing will survive in the end. OK, you can take items worth high runes in the end, but also will lose all the work invested there. I made the accounts for ETFonTop ladder race, and believe me that if anything bad would have happened I would have erased everything without a trace of doubt. Hehe, also don't forget registering a valid, safe e-mail address: some winners of the previous ladder season did not, and did not get the prize ^^.
- The main char is the one to be played the whole time. If only 1 member is online, public baal runs are ok as little xp is better than none. For non-public runs, you will need to go fast and safe at least a sorc and the main char, and a singer will be more than welcome. Focus on main char, and you will have some chances to succeed :)
- Pray so you don't get many disconections/lag spikes on the latest levels. If some of you has better connections than others (for example, I know I had more lagspikes and ISP disconections than others), try playing the main char from the most safe connection. Dying at level 96+ is a pain in the arse...
- Don't worry too much about items, focus on main char's gear and the rest will come slowly; like Solar says, making that many runs a day helps a lot...
- Have every single point of your adventure planned out from the beginning; planning ahead will leave you less issues to solve later, when your main task is gain xp, gain xp, gain xp...
- Last, but not least, to make you an idea of what you are facing with this run, our motto was "no fun, just work". Stick to that idea, as it will be like that most of the time ^^
I will follow this thread so I can give input when/if needed, and you can always PM me for more private stuff. I will delighted give my opinion and suggestions. GOOD LUCK, and may ETF be on Top again :thumbsup:

How much time does this take? As in day do you play 16 hours in straight or more/less? Just thinking because I don't have work or school anymore :)
Necro's CE is no good with pallys, for example, as it makes redemption of no use. And if you plan to use a hammerdin, you will need redemption, believe me ;)

to make the fastest leveling you would need
3 parties of 7 people preparing for the 8th character 24/7.
parties would look like this:
Barbarian BO/SHOUT/WARCRY
Necro /LOWER RES/AMP/POISON NOVA+Synergies
Cold sorc
Fire sorc
Light sorc
Paladin conviction/meditation/cleansing
Hammerdin
the 8th needs crushing blow, prevent monster heal, fast attack and he switches between the games as soon as they are ready.
1 sorc teles to Baal
1 sorc teles to diablo
1 sorc teles to exp shrine
the group cleans out minions/seal bosses
then sends message to 8th character who comes in and kills diablo/baal.

Sorry for that. :D I would only be playing in the evening hours, starting somewhere between 17.00 and 19.00 GMT+1 and would stop somewhere around 1.00 GMT+1.
I will build a meteorb sorc and will do shrine hunting, as I have done that last time.

Not all of the party can play 24/7...maybe some can but not for a long period...i hope the team can get a nice balance and that players can contribute to the team! Yeah i wish i could play all the time but D2 aint paying the bills! :D

To all - considering we havent got a new patch *yet* and no actual date for a reset, lets just keep this to who is actually interested for now.

I'll remain skeptical as 1.09 -> 1.10 transition was about as smooth as an Egyptian whiskey. Any1 remember they announced the patch (with no due date) and then announced the downtime.... mass hysteria... then it took a year to come out.

some of these members may not have full acces to all accounts in the beginning as i totaly looked to the postcount/join date/renown of the pple i just mentioned pple who are interested in this party feel free to post here, but remember pple must have joined before me or must already be trusted by me like some are with less posts/join date then me
as triekje is well trusted and co-creator of this party i not say anything about that but the one i not know will get the leader when I/triekje decide this as i am probably the creator of all the accounts/e-mail wich makes me mostly the boss of the accounts, and triekje mostly of the forums
the brother of triekje will make the forum and i will let a ICT-student (third year) (Friend of me) help on this forum to let it run smooth.
and the pple i not mentioned are not trusted enough by me or triekje as i speak for triekje to, and for the old etfontop party we always need information. If possible we would get all the non-private stuff of youre old forum like: builds, forum-setup, strategy to play as we dont want to interfere with any private stuff of the old forum i think we will get this from the person who leads this forum or the true leader of the old party
