Is the Grandfather sword a good option for a concentrator barb?

If not, then what is the best non rune word weapon to use for a cocentrator?

It's not a horrible choice, but you will definitely have some speed problems. There are better choices out there.

The ideal Rune Word will depend on what resources you have available to you. Generally, EBotD and Grief will be the top choices, but EOath is a very good option if you're a mediocre-wealth Ladder player.

As Exile mentioned, it will be rough thanks to the slow swing speed. The best non-runeword weapons would be Death Cleaver and other items of that nature. Anything with a high base speed and decent damage/mods will work wonders.

I myself used a cruel berserker axe for months until I managed to get my BotD, and didn't have any problems at all.
