I have been lurking on this board for awhile, finally decided I'd join the fun. I am probably older than a lot here, but I enjoy D2 anyway! I'm obviously not as serious a player as some of you, I'll probably wind up asking a lot of questions. I've been playing for about a year, sporadically, just enough to maintain my interest. I only play single player, have never played an online game in my life. Hmm, anything else I should tell you? Oh, yeah, I look forward to getting to know you all!

I'd better shape up my memory if I were you, 'us all' is quite a lot ^^

-Welcome! Enjoy your stay, don't read the faqs, be legit, spread your love.

Hey! Welcome to the SPF, and take these, you'll need 'em.

Is reading the FAQ's a bad idea? I doubt I'd be able to retain everything contained therein, but still some of it would probably stick.

I only play with what the game itself gives me, I wouldn't know how to change it even if I wanted to! I only wish I could find some of the neat things I've only read about on here, but I'm sure that if I can only stick with a character long enough, I'll eventually start finding good stuff. So far, I've played all the characters up to about level 30 or so, then I get kinda bored with them. This is before I found out about the /players 8, you level pretty quickly with that! I've lately been playing a paladin, but the auras don't seem to be doing that much lately. I'll probably drop him soon and start another to try and do more damage using other skills.

Thanks for the welcome, and if I seem to forget some of "you all's" names, just chalk it up to part-timers, ok?

Definitely read the FAQs. I hope Nepeta was being sarcastic by saying that. If not, then he is justifiably squid-bait.

Welcome to the forums nooby! You're on good company with the n00b squad here.

Hi, consider playing a summon necro for your next char, they are fun. And relaxing, the skellies are good meat(less?) shields so you aren't often in danger. And don't listen to the skelly mage haters, mages are useful!

Welcome! Enjoy this goodie basket of baked goods and squid repelant. DO read the FAQs (esp the SPF FAQ) and stop on by the EMB. And if the squid eats nepeta, we'll just blame durf anyway.

Welcome. Consider yourself lucky that you're not as addicted as some of us.

Welcome!

It's so odd to get a new one that didn't convert from bnet. I can tell I like you :D

I'm probably older than you are. Probably older than most. I just wanted to say hello and welcome, even though I'm pretty new here myself. I also did not come as a bn convert. I love reading about the 1337 itamz others find, and have yet to level anyone beyond 48... but my new fishymancer will certainly get up there. Definitely read the FAQs, repeatedly. The stuff will sink in, eventually.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I must say I was surprised that there were several in the 36-45 range in that poll - there must be more of us than I thought! I'm not that old, only 42, but that surely seems old some days, especially when I start to talk games with my contemporaries.

The basket of baked goodies was quite good, water_moon, thanks. What in the world do I need the squid repellent for? Is there a giant squid around here hoping for another shot at Capt. Nemo?

Whilst I'm here, is Malice a good runeword for a paladin? It sure looks it, with the 100% chance of open wounds but I'm curious if anyone's used it before.

HAH!

The one that tried to get Nemo was a wuss in comparison to ours..

Be afraid..

Or offer it trolls every now and again.. Seems to work for me ;)

I know what you mean. I felt really old and sad the other day when I found liver spots on my hands. Then my wife pointed out they were freckles, brought out by the sun and I cheered up again. :)
