I have been killing mephisto easily not using moat trick but by trapping him either in front or back of ledge that is 45% rt in back of cicle directly in back of waypt.
with practice this is very quick with no interference from other monsters as you run into using the moat good luck

Ok, but a relatively stout merc should be able to hang against meph before you drop him. I nice bit of armor would help ;)

the big torch holders between the gateway and meph's personal chest.

Doesn't matter how stout your merc is, Meph will kill him, unless you feed him lots of potions. My Meteorb tanks him together with her merc because she's very robust.

I can't remember any torch holders. Do us visual-imagination impaired folks a favour and post a screenshot and details as to how exactly you get him trapped.

Edit: Please use better spelling when you do, cause I don't understand some of the things you're saying.
