Congratulations. The chance for Meph not dropping anything at all is ridiculously low. RTB might know the exact probability.

My worst drops from Mephisto include, but aren't limited to the following:
1. Mephisto's Soulstone
2. Unidentified Green Text Breast Plate (it's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get!)

i just got one the other day. no items, it was like a normal emerald and X gold.
1: Nothing at all. (yes, me too, and it has happened more than once).
2: Gold.
3: Exploding Potion x2
4: Bone Wand of Zeal <--- Teh weapon for a zealamancer...

ROFL, Bone wand of Zeal? Talk about a crazy item. Now, if something super wierd like "Hydra Bow of Leap Attack" dropped, that'd be pretty cool. I doubt that an item like that even exists, but still, how funny would that be?

I'm pretty sure that if any monster dies too close to a wall/river of blood/chasm in baals chamber that the drops can be 'lost'. You did get drops, but the game tried to drop them where they can't go.

1 in (15/80)^-7, which is 1 in 122741. Getting nothing from meph's quest drop is slightly easier at 1 in 48200 (=(15/70)^-7).
Skoolbus: In andy's and duriel's chambers there are quite a few patches on the ground where items cannot fall. They look no different than the rest, so you'll never know if an item went missing on one.

That's so messed up, you're like 9 times more likely to get an SOJ with 0% MF than nothing. That's some luck.

He always drop something but nothing at all i never seen that!
Dont give up though! He might drop you the othery way around!
Remembered when he dropped me 4 uniques once...Storm, shako, maras and wolfhowl in 1 drop....And that was in the beggining of ladder 2 after 5 days of restart....Got very lucky there! :D

Mephi had a good day... he gave you gold instead of useless items the first time, and when you came back right away he was generous and gave you a pile of gold again... no stupid "weren't you just here before? One pile per person only".
What's to complain?

"Nothing" as in those blue/yellow items which I cant even SEE anymore when ever I MF. But I just KNOW they are there because I heard them drop...

turn off your maphack.
When MFing meph (and pindle for that sake) I check quite a lot of blue and yellow items. Examples would be:
- All rings and amulets. Never know when something good drops, although no +2 all on rares and magics
- All blue elite armor. Could be "jewelers whatever of the whale"
- All blue Monarchs. Could be "jewelers monarch of simplicity/colossus/deflecting"
- All rare polearms and weapons that barbarians can wield one handed. Just upgrade if they are godly.
- All charms and jewels.
- All circlet type helms, except for the green ones...
- All rare gloves (looking for +2 skill tab and 20% IAS with resists or other goodies)
So you see, most of the time I get something "potentially godly" that I check, and from time to time I find stuff like 39% MF rings, 15%resist/10FCR rings, 410% ED phase blades, and lots of semi-useful starter gear, like 20%resists/+2 tree rare amulets. I'm sure some of these items could go for runes Pul and higher (much higher on those jeweler's items).

I foudn this extremly hillarious. Props to you dog. Meph always gives stuff after the right amount of MF, But nothing at ALL. Man you shouldn't play the latterie. It's a sign!

the worst drop by far has got to be the ubiquitous green breast plate! even a no items drop is better than a bleeding green breast plate!!

It's well possible to get three of the same set item as well.

Those two heavy belts may have not been the same.
Irath's and Infernal both have heavy belts as part of the set...

That's right and IIRC I haven't identified them. Anyway, Meph also dropped two set breastplates (two times) and two set double axes at the same time for me. I just didn't make screenshots.

Lots of Gold
Stamina potion
Just watched my drops for a day or two, when I saw this thread. Yeah Meph's really hot atm :p

Just for fun I have calculated chances for Mephisto to drop 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 items. Can someone help me by checking these calculations? I’m bad at math.
Item quantity : Chance
6: ~1/1.6
5: 1/4
4: 1/10
3: 1/43
2: 1/311
1: 1/4046
0: 1/122741
I have used fallowing formulae:
Chance=P!/((P-I)!*I!) * (ND/T)^(P-I) * (D/T)^I,
Where
P – Picks (7 for Meph).
I – Items to drop (0, 1, 2, …)
ND – NoDrop (15 for Meph)
T – total drop (80 for Meph)
D – drop probability (T-N, 65 for Meph)
Also you should add 7 and 6 items drop chances together, because no monster can drop more than 6 items.
If those numbers add up to 1/1 then your math is likely correct. I have no idea as to how correct/incorrect your formula is.

Honestly, people who are bad at math would have problems to calculate 15/80 without a pocket calculator. You know about binomial coefficients, that's above average, I guess :thumbsup:
Last night in the same run Meph dropped me one pile of 2400ish gold..
and then Andariel dropped NOTHING go me..
yes it is possible Andariel's drops hit the bad tiles but still...I killed both bosses in what looked like the middle of their respective areas.

agreed...most the time when peopel can't see their item they got maphack and it autohides useless items
Those useless items can be useful and worth high runes (even unduped high runes) as I said in a previous post in this thread...
