Ladder Monsters Stronger than NL?

Yes, it's true. On NM and hell ladder monsters have 17.5% more defense than non-ladder, and on hell they have 33% more HP. The AS and d2data.net list ladder 'stats'.

I seem to remember Thrugg stating that this is also true for single player, and that SP is just "offline ladder play". Is my memory (and Thrugg for that matter) correct?

Yes, but there are no world events (i.e. no clone) and you won't have the second and third bunch of 1.10 runewords.
