Opinion on Met/CL?

Just unexperienced here, so would appreciate your opinion.


Skills Dist:
Fire:
20 Meteor
20 Fireball
5 Fire Mastery
4 Preq

Lightning:
20 Chain Lightning
10 Lightning Mastery
3 Preq
1 Teleport

Would it be an effective technique to cast Met, use CL to stun until the Met hits?

If this is not a good build, what other ways could you utilize a Fire/Lightning sorc, especially in Hell mode?

Your lightning damage will be pathetically low. Think about using Fire Wall and Fire Mastery and maxing CL, L, and Lightning Mastery. Or get Frozen Orb and Cold Mastery and the Lightning skills.

The problem with the skills that you picked is that they need a lot of synergies and the mastery in order to be powerful. Cold has a powerful attack that doesn't need a synergy to do a lot of damage: Frozen Orb.

Read some of the build guides and see what you like.

Your build can work, but it won't be nearly as effective as the common cookie cutter builds. Your CL damage will be fairly low, and you will need a lot of +skills to make it worthwhile. If you have some decent gear, and don't mind having a bit less power, go for it! Watching everyone here build meteorbs is getting highly annoying anyway. I recommend you don't attept this build without Baezil's Vortex (and NO points into Nova!) and around +10 to sorc skills. Also, leave FM at 1pt and put 4 into a lightning synergy (NOT Nova!)

Personally, I'd build it like this...

20 Lightning Mastery
20 Fireball

1 Fire Mastery
1 Static Field
1 Teleport

Remaining points into CB.

Baezil's Vortex (w/ lightning facet or resist jewel)
Lidless Wall (w/ PDiamond)
