merc leveling

Hi, i have a level 62 merc that i really want to level but i want do do it fast (duh). were is the best place to level him?

Try Flayer Jungle in act3 hell. Works excellent from lvl 60 all the way up to lvl 90...!
I always go there :)

Yeah.. also nm/hell cows and nithalak temp do the trick
U hafta remember that mercs are very lvl sensitive, u hould easly find a place where u can easly kill lotsa enemies and your merc gaining mucho xp..

Remember that it's ok to kill monsters by yourself cos the merc will just "leach" from u.. but if the merc itself does the killing hell get double exp from it.

imho, the best way to do it is to first take advantage of the max levels where a merc is available:

norm a1: 7
norm a2: 12
norm a3: i dunno, 17ish?
norm a5: 25
nm a1: ?
nm a2: 45
nm a3: ?
nm a5: ?

before 35, a merc is extremely hard to level. after 35, it's a lot easier and more eq becomes available (stealskull, yari hone sundan, etc.)

if the difference between your level and the merc's level is around 10 or less, you can kill and the merc will gain good xp. however, if the difference is higher, you should let the merc kill in areas where you don't necessarily get good xp.

for example, i usually turbo to lvl 73 ish from nm baal runs, leaving my merc behind at around lvl 47 or 50. then, what i do is drag him around and use static and let him get all the kills, or tank for him.

true but still remember that the merc doesnt need to kill the monster to get exp... even my merc hve 6k damage hes still lotsa slower than I'm on killing monsters.. now even when your merc get double exp when he kills the monster u are many time faster killer than him so hell get more exp thatway..

so just go to a place where Mlvl are about the same or a bit higher than yer merc and kill everything..

At L62, nightmare Baal minion runs are probably the best way to achieve that. Assuming it's an act 2 merc, I normally give him an ethereal, amned Pierre Tombale Couant (not upgraded), Gaze/Crown of Thieves/Tal's helm and Gris armor, socketed with 3 IAS jewels. He will survive nightmare Baal minion runs most of the time.

IMO it doesn't pay off to let him do the kills for getting triple XP, as he might die too often then and it also takes some time to wait for the stupid merc to do the right things. Mercs just need a fraction of the XP of your main character as well.
