Just for the fun of it, I have decided to try my hands on D2C for old time sakes. The version I am using is 1.10. I am also trying it in 1.06 but that's another story I will post later on.
I am playing this on SP. I was wondering what are the majors differences between Classic and LOD version 1.10.
I know that you have don't have access to : Runes, Charms, Jewels and Rune Words. Also, LOD unique are out of the questions. Most the crafting recipes are probably not availbe(guessing here).
To be more precise, I am wondering beside what is mentioned bellow, are the game mecanics the same ? Do monsters have the same AI and HP ? And what about gambling ? Is there anything left from the good old classic days or is V1.10 D2C exactly the same thing as LOD minus all the upgrades that came with the expension ? If that's the case then I am very worried. Beating the game in hell mod without access to Rune Word and elite unique does not seem very doable ! It's not my first time playing SP so I know that beating the game in all three mods is a real challenge. I have noticed that you have access to synergies which will certainly help a lot but I wonder if that will be enough if good gear is hardly available. Back in the old days we didn't have access to all the godly rune words and uniques but it was certainly possible to beat the game and make a very viable character using rares and magicals. But again, the monsters then, beside a few exceptions that were a pain the butt, were kittens compare to what they are now.
Those questions sure might seem a bit weird but the last time I played classic it was just before LOD was released so that's about 5 years ago.
