Staff runewords?

I know you can make a BoTD Archon staff, becasue I have seen one. This works because it can be made in "weapons". My question is this: can a runeword for "melee weapons" be made in a staff? I ask this, because I have an IK/Ribcracker/Mace barb and I was thinking of making him a "silence" or "eternity' archon staff for kicks, but I don't want to waste runes. Anyone know?

Silence is "Weapons" as well
Maybe you can test it with "Honor"?

The runeword page of Arreat Summit says this:

Melee Weapons = Any weapon that isn't ranged such as a Sword or Hammer. A Bow or Crossbow is a ranged weapon. Sorceress Orbs are not considered Melee Weapons.

That means, staves and even wands are melee weapons, but if I were you, I would try it with a cheap runeword, e.g. Malice or Strength, and a cheap staff.

I´ve made a Strength staff, for my staff-amazon (see my avatar). She nearly defeated NM Ancients with it.

'Passion' in one of the two fastest elite staves (that can get 4 sockets) would be cool.



(BTW, there is only one runeword that works in orbs: Venom.)
