I just found an etheral occulus. My question is, if it's durability were to go to zero, would the item bonuses like +3 to Sorceress skills still remain? Just curious?

An item w/ 0 durability gives no bonuses.

[EDIT: you don't have to worry about that though unless you're going to whack things with your occulus. Weapons can only lose durability when they are used to physically attack an enemy.]

An ethereal Oculus will never run out of durability if you don't make melee attacks with it, so if you don't assign a melee attack to your mouse buttons, it will never happen.

An item w/ 0 durability gives no bonuses.
Exception: If you're wearing a belt and it runs out of durability, you can still use the extra potion slots it provides (though this is not really a bonus in the common sense).

Anyone know if you're wearing a broken heavy armor (say, a shadow plate), if your run/walk speed and stamina drain are still penalized?

I just found an etheral occulus.

These seem to drop a lot lately :-) Andariel gave me one yesterday as well :-( My first golden swirling crystal; I suspected that it might be an Occulus, but didn't know until I asked Cain :-)

Why do you care about what others care ? If you don't care, ignore this thread

I like knowledge, even if I can't see an immediate use for it.

Kris, you ARE aware of how much maths, physics, chemistry or other things we could have spent thousands of hours and countless forum posts learning? :D

Even dating... I guess I'd beat Gene Simmons' "score count" if I'd been spending half the time and energy on that... And I'd still be a fairly decent diablo II player...

Weapons only lose durability from meleeing with them, shields only lose durability when successfully blocking, and armor pieces only lose durability when hit.

No, smaller monsters do not attack your boots more than bigger monsters do ;)

When helvete said "armor pieces", he means torso armor, helm, belt, gloves, and boots collectively. I believe there is some non-uniform distribution formula which chooses which piece can lose durability when struck.

Edit: For the record, your weapon loses durability when smiting, not your shield.

OMG PUT A ZOD IN IT!

Please, go see a doctor if you took that into consideration.

LOL GREAT WAY TO SHOW YOU DON'T CARE BY TAKING YOUR TIME TO POST A RESPONSE SAYING YOU DON'T CARE.
