poor sorceress help plz

Hello well after after 3 months i decided to come back and play d2, however all of my characters have expired. Now im just starting over. Im thinking of making a sorc as my first character since I will be needing it to mf in some time future for my other new characters.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to start and what stats should i put in when im leveling up. and what kind of items should i get as a starter. im going to make a meteor/orb sorc. Plz help me.

I would start a ladder metorb.

20 fire mastery
20 frozen orb
20 firebolt
20 metoer
1 into teleport
1 into warmth

They make good mfers and with an insigth (ladder only runeword) you almost never run out of mana

He meant Fire Ball, not Fire Bolt.
Max Orb, Meteor, Fire Ball, Fire Mastery first, then add points into Fire Bolt for more powerful fire spells, or into Cold Mastery for a more balanced build (I would recommend the latter).
