Paedo. None of the others involve taking advantage of sentient beings (sorry, Durf, but it is your fault after all). The only one that comes close is whatever rapine tendencies are called.

Pedo tops my list with no doubt. Anything that harms kids is something which is ugly and cuts to the bone.

Pedophiles are living proof that the death penalty is just and deserved! We should skip the "cruel and unusual" part for peds. Drawn and quartered, or anything slow and very painful.

Pedophilia popped into my head before I even opened the thread. Nothing is more vile - although people who get off using date rape drugs are a very close second.

Anything involving kids is gross and just plain wrong. I have seen some bad **** because of work as the protection of children is out second most important mandate after terrorism.

Anyway, out of the options given Pedo is the worst. But I think it's because it's so often associated with rape. It isnt the act itself that makes it the worst in my opinion, but the fact that it is forced on a child.

As for necrophilia, what if someone dies while you're having sex with them? What if they are later revived? What if they gave you permission because they don't care what happens to their body when they are dead, as David Cross apparently doesn't. If the person just died would it be much different than someone unconcious?

No it's not. And yes it is possible for two 12 year olds to have sex and end up with no mental scars. As long as they don't later analyse their past acts through the prisma of modern psychology or cultural (id est, Western) norms. But for that it takes either strong character or being located in a different culture altogether.

Bestiality, I guess. What someone keeps in his own head is his own business, and that is all that any "-philia" refers to. "Child Molester" and "Pedophile" are two separate subjects, and neither is a subset of the other (i.. you can be either without being the other).

With regards to action, hm... Necrophilia is gross, but if the dead gave permission before dying, then I don't see what the problem is.

Bestiality can be bad, though I still insist that when the animal is the male in the activity, and the activity is regular sex, desire to take part in it can be assumed. If it is the other way around, then I become more skeptical.

in anycase, you can have pedophilia and not do anything about it, its people who act upon their problem that are the bad ones.

If the question was about desire, I'd say the worst is Zoophilia, the -philia counterpart of Bestiality. Seriously, it's incredibly twisted to be attracted to something outside of your race (human, of course.)

Pedophilia isn't such a terrible thing; you have to look at it as a human to human relationship. Any human can be attracted to any human, regardless of age/physical maturity. Any person aged 18+ can be attracted to another person under the age of 18, and that, my friends, is pedophilia. It is, however, twisted to be attracted to very young children, but we are all twisted in our own ways.

Necrophilia is definitely something disgusting for most to think about, but if someone is attracted to a corpse, I say let them. Whatever.

Onto the actions, child molestion is, by far, the worst. Stop defiling our children, please.

Bestiality and sex with corpses (for lack of a better word) are both disgusting ways of achieving an orgasm, but, as the saying the goes, "If it's a hole, pork it." (Disclaimer: I might have made that saying up.)

The problem is when people run around calling names without using the dictionary. As apparently I am a pedophile as I am 18 and my girlfriend is 17, me dating a "child".

many people nowadays define pedophilia by our statutory rape standards which iirc involve one person being 18 or over and the other being under 16, i personally have never been in violation of this statute, but when i was 18 and 19 many of my girlfriends were 16 and 17, simply because guys have a tendency to mature socially and emotionally earlier than guys, so i was able to find a personality equal who was younger than me.

i happen to teach high school history nowadays and am very protective of children, but was nervous about voting for pedophilia because there is a public misconception about it.

When you claimed hebephilia, I had no idea what you were talking about. I'm more familiar with the term ephebophilia.

Anyways, I was referring to a child in American and foreign societies, defined by the sexual age of consent (the average age being about 16), which I thought was 18, but I just checked that now. So, I guess I reform my post to say "about 15 and younger," instead. Literally, though, you're right.
