Hi. After reading about a naked fishymancer report (butt nekid) i have decided to make 1 of my own. He is currentely at lvl 12, in sc, on classic d2 single player (so no merc)

This character is very refreshing from boring ol battle.net, and im having a blast with him


To make up for the loss of might aura, on classic my resists will ONLY be -50 in hell ~_~, and the monsters life is also lowered.

Be expecting a naked fishymancer Baron report sometime in the next 2 weeks :)

Ill update you guys on his progress every time i beat a difficulty, i suppose

My rules while playing him is absolutely no items allowed, killing everything i come across... but not obsessively clearing full areas, doing all the quests that are beneficial to me in at least some way (so im not gonna bother with quests like the countess and horadic malus)

So far my stat and skill layout is

All to vita with a lil bit to energy to make things more bearable.
Obviously 0 to strength and dexterity

max skeleton mastery
max raise skeleton
Some revives and a gumby////firegolem///non-naked iron golem :)
~5 to amp
1 point to decrip and presquites
mabye a small investment to attract

I dont know where to put the rest of the points. The obvious choice is corpse explosion, which owns. But being naked mabye 1 point bone armour and some into Bwall or prison would be very helpful. Wait, im sc, nvm, corpse explosion all the way.

Not that I want to discourage you, but from everything I've read, you're ****ed. Apparently, fishymancers are extremely difficult in classic, even with equipment. No merc means no way to get the first skeleton. And you can't take skeletons between acts. And the lack of might makes an appreciable difference.

I'm all for naked necros, just do it in LoD :thumbsup:

well... classic>lod imo. Only reason id play lod is to try out a new exotic build, or to play a druid or assasin. As for getting the first corpse, irongolem or firegolem can get it easy enough. Corpse explosion is an absolute beast, as well. I used to play expansion... once the ladder got screwed by all the new runewords and everyone got rich i stopped and moved to classic.

You say its harder on classic once you have an army raised?

Well what you dont realise is that monsters health in classic is very low, my pvm ww barb with bonesnap kills hell diablo in ~3-4 whirls :thumbsup:


much lower monsters health on classic w/o might merc>might merc skellymancer on expansion in terms of killing speed.


Skellymancers..hard? They are just as viable as skellymancers on expansion, its just that on classic they pale in comparison to 15k damage hammerdins and sorceresses. I have played a geared skellymancer (around 10+ skills) and it had no trouble at all.

of course not. The characters that are available in classic are the same as in expansion, in terms of character builds. (characters based around specific items being the exception, such as dreamers... or synergy bug abusing chars)


oh yeah and i might also try a naked lord of mages nec in classic, getting the first corpse is easy with high lvl firegolem and lower resist :)

or psn or bone if i choose to have it as a 2nd attack
