Does fort improve foh damage?

I'm thinking of a merc with upped goldstrike, dream helm, and some armour... if fort improves foh damage, then so be it! Else, i'm going to pop on light facets on her...

Fort does not help your FoH damage. However, even Facets on your merc would not improve your FoH damage, you would need to be wearing them yourself. Anything your merc wears applies to him or her only, not you.

Yes, my merc is launching the foh's herself. the bow she's wearing has a % chance to cast it and i'm wondering if the ed from fort will help her foh damage...

Yes it will, but the FoH is so weak I don't understand why you would want to waste facets or her sockets.

with dream on, the foh does 500 dmg, and the bow is quite decent with 250 ed.

if i've got fort, the bow's dmg goes up. If i've got 4 5/5'd armr, the foh dmg goes up!

wow, use the fort, it just makes more sense, and give the facet armor to me so i can put it to good use :D

foh damage is determined by skill level, not weapon damage, therefore any wep you use won't matter (i also never see any merc's damage going up through +skills.) technically, if the merc is using +skills, that's the only way foh damage should change.

holy shock is the same. it adds lightning damage based on the skill level, not based on a % of the weapon's damage.

only a few spells will do this. vengeance, for example, or berzerk.

[edit] dream should also not affect other spell damage. that would be like holy shock adding to a sorc's lightning or fireball damage, which it can't.

Superhal is correct. Fort will not boost her FoH damage. The Enhanced Damaged mod from Fort applies only to physical damage, or physical damage that is converted to other forms of damage (i.e. Barbarian Berserk, Paladin Vengeance).

Auras granted from items can be synergized, but cannot act as synergies. So the Dream would not affect her FoH damage.
