Why dont smiters...

Why don't you smiters use Lacerator? I use one on my smiter and I find it to be an exceptional weapon.

+30% Increased Attack Speed
33% Chance of Open Wounds
Prevent Monster Heal
Hit Causes Monster To Flee 50%
33% Chance To Cast Level 3 Amplify Damage On Striking

Flee might sound discouraging, but it isn't as bad as you might think.

i dont know... 33% chance of casting double damage. could be a nice switch weapon... or it least a different weapon.

smart bm smiters do, but most public smiters are idiots and either use astreons or doom, they dont even know what a 'Lacerator' is.

im diso of it on europe, for all those bm smiters :)

it wouldnt be a bad idea to have it as a switch weapon, and just throw it!, it would smoke doom, and asterons i think.

It's only range 1 when you melee, which could sometimes cause problems.

Grief beats this hands down, but in NL, it could still be a very viable option. I actually splurged on an eth one... two weeks before the new Rune Words came out. Genius me.

Lacerator is very good weapon. But:

1. Range 1 = problems in duel vs ranged and barbs.

2. Chance 33% - this is not 100%. And this is a big problem. Here is luck very very important.

3. Having AD on lacerator, you not have Life Tap... But having astreon, you may have life tap from exile+draculs!

Early i'm testing lacerator vs astreon... Both this weapons very good for smiter and lacerator not better. Luck is very very important in this duel !!!

4. Now on ladder good Grief doing damage nearly = damage lacerator with AD!

So, now best weapon for smiter - good grief BA (range 3 and possiblity life tap).
