PvM poisonmancer

would someone please post the best gear to put on a poisonmancer made strictly for PvM??? thanks.

Unlike most casters, poisoners don't need FCR. What they need aside from the basics of survival are the following in order of priority:

-resists, +damage, and +skills.

Helmets

+3 PNB circlet/diadem w/all resists, 2 sockets, Um'd or Poison faceted
Harlequin Crest (shako) - Um'd or Faceted

Amulet

+3 PNB resist all or Mara's.

Armor

Bramble or Enigma - this is a topic of debate. I haven't tried either so I wouldn't know but I would lean towards Bramble if you don't have a lot of PNB skillers for the extra poison damage to compensate. NecroChilde claims that he kills just fine without Bramble and prefers Enigma for its ability to spread poison around faster. I think his poison attack is much stronger than mine though. I'm using Vipermagi until I can afford better.

Weapon

Death's Web wand, Poison faceted - Hands down best. If you don't have this, just go for the best plus skills you can get like White on a +3 Nova wand or a Blackbog's Sharp. D Web can be very expensive and has variable stats of 40-50 -poison resist and +1-2 PNB skills. The -resists are more important than the +1-2 so don't pass up a -50 +1 for a -40 +2.

Shield

Trang Oul's - One choice. With 2 other pieces, it gives -25 poison resists.

Gloves

Trang Oul's - One choice. One of the three pieces and it gives 25% poison damage.

Rings

SoJs would probably be ideal, but this can be a good place to fill in some resists if you're having trouble in that area.

Belt

Trang Oul's - One choice. One of the three but fortunately has some nice mods.

Boots - Pretty open to choice but I'd go with Marrows for the crazy bonearmor synergies. Silkweaves are nice for mana recovery until you get a D Web. And everybody likes Waterwalks.

The -resists are more important than the +1-2 so don't go choosing a -50 +1 over a -40 +2.

i dont understand this.... it sounds like uve got something switched around, b/c if the -resis is more important y not get the +2 -40 over the +1 -50?

i can afford all the other stuff now, but not the enigma//bramble, what armor can i use besides these

id imagine anything with good +skills like que hegans, valor, vipermagi, chains of honor, etc

or, you could be fancy and do a 4 facet armor
