What do you think of young girls with tongue rings as seen here. (http://www.netflix.com/MovieDisplay?movieid=60029208&trkid=181026)

First I looked at them like I would to un-inhibited sorority girls in springbreak. With certain immoral intentions. Then if you read the description, they're 7th graders!

Once again I call for medical science to get us to the place where people are born sterile and need to pass a test to have the privledge to breed.

Well...it used to have a certain connotation. Bad girls had tongue rings. Now, it's so FadTastic that it's sickening. I have all kinds of respect for a girl if she has no tongue/lip/nose piercings and no tattoos. Oi. Grow an identity, girls.

Whatever the producer/writer are thinking when they put that picture in that particular pose. It could only mean one thing in my dirty mind.

I did see a young girl with those hip tatoos, whatever the hell they are called, at the mall with her mom. Her mom must be very proud of her daughter's body. More dirty thoughts for my mind.

Anyway my niece was going to rent that movie regardless so I will watch it with her.

I agree. That said, I am as straight-laced as they come.

And that said, I also disagree with child beauty pagents and the increased sexualisation of teenagers and younger-than-teenagers.

I really don't find girls with pierced tongues attractive and neither do I think that piercing their tongues is safe.

Btw, have any of you seen those people who take piercing to a whole knew level by splicing their tongue? I mean that is just sick.

Actually, if you haven't seen the movie, Thirteen is a brilliant independent piece. Rachel Evan Wood is an amazing actress. That cover is supposed to be seductive in a dirty way. That's what the whole movie is about, the prepubescent dream of sexual maturity.

I think nothing.
Just leave them alone!

Yah it actually was a really good movie.

As for girls with piercings...whatever they wanna do, I don't really care. It looks good on some, not so good on others. Just like clothes, tattoos, hair, etc.

I know them as tongue studs but the name isn't important.

I don't think girls (or guys for that matter) should have them when they are that young.

It's an adult thing.

Um, yeah. They do serve a purpose, and it's not one any girl under 18 needs to know about.

tongue studs are gross IMO

Frankly, based on experience, I can't think of one instance when I would prefer a tongue stud to a non-pierced tongue. It's amusing initially, but after a while it's just cumbersome.

On the right girl, they can be attractive. Most of the time they are like thongs. . .on the wrong girl.

I've never seen a good-looking peice of tounge jewelery. Ever. And I don't think I ever will. Looks like an interesting movie, but not one I'll end up seeing. I can learn enough about early adolesant desires by looking around.

How can a piece of metal feel better on your genitals than warm wet tongue?

It is a warm wet piece of metal first of all, but second it is just a texture thing. It's different.

I'm with DPH on this one - *Shudders* And in the interest of morbid curiosity, I looked up pictures of a split tongue, as mentioned by mhl12.

.... Disturbing, but as a still image, it's not apalling. Though the thought of sitting across the table from this guy and watching him move the two sides of his tongue separately... no.

Girls after 14 start giving head..it's sick but true.

My thoughts on tongue rings: looks good on some, mostly no. The girls who do it try to be rebels or look hot. Personally, I prefer the good girl look - much more sexy. Nose ring are hot or rather nose studs(?). On the right girl

Not really that suprising. There's pregnancy at age 5, so who knows

Don't care in the slightest bit. I have trouble equating random body decorations with a level of immorality I would bother spending the energy to care about.

In England you can't get a tattoo until your 18. It should be the same for this...

Yeah, but if a -18 goes to a tatoo shop with his/her parents, it's allowed. Well, at least the way it goes in Belgium. A toungue piercing is less bad because afaik it will heal if you take it out, while tatoos require painful lasers to remove and still leave a scar.

This is a tad off-topic but a friend of my college roommate was one of the pioneers of this tongue-slitting phenomenon. He tried doing it himself with a needle and some high-temperature cautering device. It became infected, turned black, and actually began to smell rotten. I lost contact before the issue was resolved.

Back on-topic. I don't understand why there exists such outrage at young girls with piercings. Nobody seems to care that there are also a good number of young men and boys with the same piercing which leads me to believe that conservative and old-fashioned thinking is the culprit. I don't think they are particularly attractive, nor rebellious, and certainly not unique but I don't feel it's my place to express general disgust at the practice. I would venture to guess that tongue studs aren't causing teenage sexuality, but rather that teenage sexuality encourages the average, young, mainstream female without the skill of free-thought to get pierced. As mentioned, at least it will heal when the next fad comes 'round.

That was a wise move on your part. :scared:

Anyway, you need to get with the program, man. Nowadays we attack symptoms. Thinking about causes is hard, and whoah, what's up with Tom and Katie?

Seeing that movie just made me NEVER want to have a daughter. EVER!! Ontop of that, seeing what goes on first hand in college... girls go to any and all extent to get noticed by boys. And some of the things guys say about them and the way the think makes me never, ever want to have a daughter. Then again i'm sure it has a lot to do with the way she's raised by her parents.

On the tounge stud note: They severe 1 purpose and 1 purpose only and should never be seen or worn otherwise. But when its go time I'm all for it.
