So my lvl 75 Pvm barb is doing sum p8 river of flame runs no good drops except for full juvs and lots of gold. I kill hephasto and an yellow breat plate drops. I look at it in my inventory and its red. I identify it, and i was almost overcome with joy. i have already traded it for an soj + a +2 min 25+ cr 25+ lr 25+ fr ring but its mods were as follows.

17 fhr
38 life
30 cold resist
28 fire resist
and sum defense and minor dr


My best rare find in a while!

Btw this barb has 0 mf :)

The best part about the story is that I was mad because nobody was trading me howltusk so I took my frustration out on meph, first time I have ever found something so valuable in my 1+ years on D2.

However, when I went to trade, nobody will give me an soj for it, I guess trading value has increased or something silly like that. Because they say they will only take a 220+ for soj.
And some sorcs even had the stupidity to tell me this IAS was too low, because IAS affects whirlwind.

I hate US West trading.

i got offered 2 sojs for the armour right when i found it but the guy got a realm down and i 4got his acc name. I was offered a single soj many times 2. I just took this ring n the soj cuz i like the ring :)


fhr life 2 resists above 25 armour w/ low strength requirements usually goes for soj, or soj+. In this case it was soj+ cuz of its redness and almost perfect dual resists

I just started a hammeradin in west to play when realm is down.
my second day playing him I traded a couple useless items for a
24fhr 29cr 28lr 3str -20req light plate with like 140 some defence.
lvl 13 req.
Is it worth anything without life?

yeah, it should be worth soj, easily, the only thing is, closeminded people on b.net would rather take that same armour with the resists at 20 if it also had 40+ life.

In my opinion, 40 somin life doesnt make a big a diffirence as ~10 extra restsits would do in terms of survivability.

You could probably get a nice rare for it though :)

I love the ring... I have yet to find high cold/fire/light ring.
This morning I found a 46cr 20priz 9str -20 bone shield it also has dmg reduced by 2 and 98enhanched defence (but who cares about that)
what is this shield worth?

without fhr it wouldn't be worth much.
fhr is very needed on rare armors to make them stand up to something like a goldskin. even though gskin has high str req 35 to all resists would make it really good for pretty much everyone if it had fhr.

Yeah, that seems a bit high. But hey, if you can get that, why not take it?

I just found a Mage Plate, 24% FHR, 98% ED, CR 27%, Req -30%. Probably worth something, but I'm too lazy to trade it. I'll probably find a use for it eventually.

dual 10-20 with fhr and moderate strength not worth much

for a belt the stats people want are...

1-6 cold dmg (for melee chars)
of course a belt can't have all of these but to make it worth anything it must have some exceptional traits

if it has really high resists they will forgive not having as good life.
or if it has a perfect 20 str and 60life they will forgive something it lacks.

mesh belt is very nice, worth soj.

the mesh would be worth soj to me, were it to have some str and/or more fhr. if 24fhr and +5 or more str, or keeping the 17fhr and adding 10+ str, and id say soj.

the demonhide is probably the most useful out of the 3 (most ppl depend on a fair bit of str from their belts, need a low str req, and prefer 4 rows), for my tastes....id pay soj if it had cr, rather than fr.....though i sold an almost identical belt a week or so ago along with a +1 priz sorc ammy for a soj..

the light belt, being only 2 rows, is unuasable in my opinion. if it were a demonhide, id pay 1 soj. if demonhide with 24fhr instead of 10, id offer 3 sojs without hesitation.

Yeah mesh would be tite with a little str. atm its sitting on my blizzer, since it was the first character i made this season it has about 60 base str lol. so its all gg ^_^.

yea, pretty much the only way i use a light belt is if i stumble across one with nice bvb mods, in which case the 2 rows for pots matters not at all...
