Versions question

Im not really a newb, but i felt that this was the best place to post this. So many things are dependent on your game version, and I thinkmine is 1.7. However, I have D2X. So does this alter my version any? Thx.

The expansion starts at 1.07. I suggest you upgrade to 1.09 or 1.10 as those are the better patches for expansion characters. Since you play offline, why don't you pay the Single Player forum a visit?

Pfft, 1.07 is a challenge. Sure, there's no player x command, bosses with teleport are nigh-invincible and there's tri-immunes on hell, but it would be boring if it were easy :lol:

Edit: Leto, different versions of the game do have some differences to other patches (sometimes just minor). Certain runewords won't work on any patch except 1.10. Also, certain items won't drop on some of the later patches.

In 1.07, for example, alot of the uniques (like Arkaine's Valor) are godly compared to what they would be in the later patches. Also, crafted items can get some pretty godly stats that would not be able to be created in the later patches. On the other hand, you won't be able to make many of the better runewords, as they technically don't exist in that patch.

You should probably read Repusz's 1.07 Guide (http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=126645) to learn abit more about your current patch. Otherwise, you probably should upgrade to 1.10. At least until you've had your fill :thumbsup:

have you played 1.07 and more, have you tried lvling up? give me 1.09 for sp with cowing like ur life depends on it its fun :)

I managed to get about 3 characters through Hell difficulty to kill Baal on 1.07. The fun isn't in the lvling, it's in the progress through each act (especially on hell difficulty). I didn't sit back and do any runs, and I ended up at aroundlvl 75-80 by the time I finished the game, which was plenty for me :thumbsup:
