Can Normal Uniques be upped to Elites?

I.E. Can you Up Tearhaunches to War Boots & then again to Myrmidon Greaves?

Yes they can be upgraded to elites if you are on ladder. Linky (http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/cube.shtml).

up to exceptional rare first then to elite rare, so you need at least a UM rune.

he's upping unique boots. so he needs a ko ,lem, tal, shael and 2 p diamonds.

you'll want to check what the strength requirement will be after you up them. sometimes people up stuff without thinking and end up not being able to use it.

New I could up 1 level, but it wasn't really clear about 2 levels.

I think he means the UM to get all the low runes?

I did look at str on Mym Greaves - too high for my Hammerdin will leave as except.. But Crusader Gauntlet Str Req. is in the right range...

i think he was thinking of the recipe to upgrade rare weapons that requires an um.

ko, lem, shael and tal are worth about half an um all together
